Opal Sol is, without question, one of the most beautiful resorts in Clearwater. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how immaculate and well-maintained everything was. The facilities are stunning, and you can tell great care goes into keeping the property spotless. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the pool area. Having three pools and a jacuzzi was fantastic, especially compared to many nearby resorts where guests are often packed into overcrowded pool spaces. Even during busy times, it never felt overly congested, and there was plenty of room to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. We stayed in the Executive King Suite, and it exceeded our expectations. The room itself was beautiful, spacious, and elegantly designed, but the true star was the massive balcony. Waking up and ending each day with those panoramic Gulf views and incredible sunsets made for an unforgettable experience. It truly felt luxurious, and I’d honestly say Opal Sol is one of the most visually stunning resorts in Clearwater. Unfortunately, our experience dining at Drift was much more mixed. The service was extremely slow, and while we were repeatedly told they were “busy,” there was no wait to be seated and simply a normal amount of guests dining. Since we arrived about 45 minutes before closing, it almost felt as though the staff wasn’t very enthusiastic about seating us, despite additional guests arriving after us. The overall energy and hospitality felt noticeably different from the exceptional experience offered throughout the rest of the resort. To make matters worse, I had to send back my steak because it arrived completely raw. I typically enjoy my steak medium rare, but this wasn’t even close—it was uncooked in the center. Even our waiter seemed shocked by how underdone it was. Mistakes happen, but it added to what already felt like an inconsistent dining experience. Another disappointment was learning that room service ends at 10 p.m. For a luxury resort, this felt surprisingly limiting. When you’re on vacation, spending evenings out and returning late, sometimes you just want the convenience of ordering food and enjoying some late-night snacks without having to leave your room. That being said, Opal Sol did provide a thoughtful alternative. Each floor features a snack shelf that was consistently restocked throughout our stay. We appreciated that attention to detail, and it helped make up for the lack of late-night room service. Overall, Opal Sol delivers a gorgeous property, exceptional accommodations, spectacular views, and fantastic pool amenities. The beauty and cleanliness of the resort are truly top-notch. However, inconsistent dining experiences and limited late-night food options kept this stay from being the five-star experience it could have been. We’d absolutely return for the resort itself, but we hope the food service side improves to match the excellence found everywhere else on the property.

Beautiful modern hotel with amazing ocean views and a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were very clean, stylish, and comfortable. The beach location is excellent and everything felt upscale and peaceful. Special thanks to the bartenders, especially Vera, for being so friendly and welcoming during my stay. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely come back!

Had the best weekend and anniversary celebration of all time. Did not expect such a beautiful, welcoming, classy and fun resort and staff the entire duration of our stay. Balcony view was incredible and breathtaking, so relaxing, and grateful to be able to spend time overlooking what seemed to the top of the world. Location was unmatched and super fun, easily accessible to anything and anywhere you’d like to visit. Pool, restaurants, service, cleanliness, amenities, vibes, people, class… we could go on. Very much looking forward to returning :)

Everything about our stay at the Opal Sol was perfection. The views were to die for, the details sophisticated and thoughtful, and the food throughout the two sisters resorts was phenomenal. Our 10th floor suite offered panoramic views of the water and the balcony was the perfect spot to enjoy breezes in the morning and evening. Waking up to that view from bed in the morning was amazing! We ate lunch at the Sandbar (Sands Resort), dinner at SeaGuini (Sands), and breakfast the next morning at the Beach Market Cafe (Sol). We also enjoyed the gym and the pool. The beach was a quick jot across the street. 5-star experience and we would love to come back.

My family and I had the best time at this resort! 5 stars across the board. Service was excellent, the restaurants had great food (we ate at Toast, Drift, and the Cafe), and the room was very clean with plenty of space for our luggage. The amenities here are amazing with three pools, beachfront access, a balcony view of the beach to the pier, and an enclosed walkway to access the opal sands amenities. We felt like we were on a cruise the whole time, it was pure serenity and peace. We also looked forward to the selection of fresh cookies served daily on our floor.

Amazing new resort. Everyone from valet, to front desk, to housekeeping, to restaurant staff were above and beyond friendly. Always asking how our stay was going and what more they could do for us. The room was spacious, immaculate, and had a beautiful view of the beach from the large balcony. Many thoughtful amenities in the room and throughout the resort. Loved having a refrigerator and dishwasher along with a stocked kitchen. The only thing that would have made it better was a washer and dryer to help with wet and sandy clothes. The pantry on each floor was a great touch. Extremely convenient to get coffee and breakfast every morning at the cafe. Many restaurants and shops in an easily walkable distance. Can't go wrong staying here.

I’m not sure why anyone would stay anywhere else in the Clearwater Beach/St Pete/Tampa area than Opal. Where to begin. The grounds, the pools, the restaurants … all five star. All of which empties out onto a perfect beach w/ white sand. The staff is impeccable…welcoming without being “salesy”. You can immediately recognize that management has approached every detail of customer service at an expert level. Everything is “easy”. Exactly how you want it on vacation. And the rooms are spacious to a fault. I’m a pretty harsh critic …especially when a hotel or restaurant brands itself as a cut above or luxurious… Opal is easily both. I have multiple couples and families who will be visiting here in the near future and I will certainly be a return guest. It’s just rare that you have a hotel that excels at everything… restaurants, rooms, service, pools/beach/grounds. Absolute no brainer. I would have paid twice what I was charged…

We spent four wonderful nights at Opal Sol as a couple in our fifties and overall had a fantastic experience. Our king studio on the 15th floor was a highlight — the room was beautiful, contemporary, spacious, and spotless, and the views were absolutely stunning. We had front-row seats to the sunset every night, plus warm afternoon sunshine that made relaxing in the room a joy. The staff were consistently friendly and eager to help, although we learned it’s worth confirming details with a second person if something is important. For example, we asked about extending our checkout and were first told it would be no problem, then the day before departure were told it wasn’t possible due to housekeeping — but when we asked again the morning of departure, it was easily granted. We dined twice at Drift, and the food quality and atmosphere were excellent, but it’s smart to double-check your order. We experienced a few mistakes, including an undercooked salmon one evening. That said, we still really enjoyed the restaurant and would return. The pool deck is beautifully designed, and we especially loved the lounge chairs facing the beach — such a perfect place to relax with the ocean in front of you. We also booked a couples massage at the spa. While it wasn’t the best massage we’ve ever had, it was still a very pleasant and relaxing experience in a lovely setting. Valet service was smooth and efficient, which made it easy to take our rental car in and out for daily excursions without any stress. Overall, this was a great stay — the property is gorgeous, the views are unforgettable, and the atmosphere feels fresh and upscale. With just a little more consistency in communication and dining execution, it would be perfect. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Opal Sol for a relaxing Clearwater Beach getaway.

Excellent resort can’t recommend enough. I was there for a two day seminar but wound up staying for a full seven days. The restaurant served high-quality food and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The pools and hot tubs are very clean and we had a blast. The rooms were immaculate with room service every day. If you’re looking for a five star resort in Clearwater Florida, this is your place.

Recently stayed at Opal Sol for a business convention with my husband and I was very impressed! The room was very nice and spacious with an amazing balcony overlooking the pool and beach. The bed/pillows were extremely comfortable as well. The food was very good at both Toast & Drift (especially for hotel restaurants). We actually enjoyed the food here far and above anything else that we tried in the area. The pool temperature was really warm for February and the hot tubs at both the main area and the spa rooftop pool area were clean and nice as well. I had a very relaxing Swedish massage and also utilized the salt room at the Spa. The location was perfect- close to tons of bars, restaurants, shops, and a really nice walking path along the beach without getting sandy. Also a big shoutout to their valet system- I loved being able to scan the VR code to have our car ready by the time we got downstairs. All the guys working were very nice and they even held my luggage for hours in a secure locked room after check out. Highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a getaway in Clearwater! It is not our favorite beach town on the gulf coast, but I would come back to stay at one of the Opal resorts again. We are looking forward to trying other hotels in other locations that are part of the Opal Collection as well.
