This property advertises a boutique island oasis but receives overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and misleading descriptions. Recent reviews highlight severe issues with infestations, damaged amenities, and a lack of responsiveness from the owners, leading to a cancelled stay. While one review mentioned a pleasant location and privacy, it’s overshadowed by numerous complaints.
What they advertise is VERY misleading. Rooms weren’t that clean looking , didn’t wanted to even sleep on the bed or pull out mattress. The place is very outdated and depressed looking. A fuse blew while staying here. The pool was so dirty that you couldn’t even see through It I was scared getting in, I put my legs in and came right back out. The deck was also dirty along with the inside walk way which by the way was flooded with puddles and had no drains. There’s no office so if you need any type of assistance or have an issue they don’t answer the phone after 8pm which they should at least have an after hours phone line. Air conditioner didn’t work in the kitchen/living room area. They gave us the wrong bed size which we paid extra for to get a bigger size. Me and my family came home itching and bites on us (NOT BED BUGS). Paid for a 3 day stay and left after 1 night. Way to over priced for what they’re giving. They need to clean the place up and definitely update the rooms then they should be fine.
Very private! We weren't bothered by anyone or even seen anyone the entire stay, 5 days in fact. The condo was clean and had all the basic kitchen items so we didn't have to eat out unless we chose to. There is a beautiful garden, pool and dock to hangout on. The beach, restaurants, grocery and convenience stores are all within walking distance. We had a blast.
ZERO STARS, or even negative if that is at all possible. I hope someone gets to see this review because the owners have now taken their rental off VRBO after I emailed them explaining our issues and letting them know I would be leaving a bad review. We stayed at this property in Sept 2020. This listing was very misleading. We really thought we were renting a home with a private pool and instead it was a "resort" with 7 other units sharing the facility. This house is extremely tacky and outdated. The AC took 2 of the 3 days of our trip to start cooling down and 1 room had a broken AC and we were never notified prior to arrival. There was a loud AC machine in the room with a tube coming out of the window and several large cockroaches and palmetto bugs came in due to the opening. Some even crawled out of the “clean” towels. I reached out prior to booking to ask about our trailer and 24ft boat and paid extra for a spot. We arrived and they said no a 24ft trailer wouldn't fit and then for the first few hours we had to try and figure out what we were going to do. They found a "solution" and had us park our trailer in a nearby parking lot off a dark alley that was supposedly their friends. We were worried the whole time that it was going to get stolen. They didn't refund what we paid to park the trailer, instead made it seem like they were doing us a favor by not charging us more to have it in their friend's lot. Then they charged us for our 2nd car to park in the original spot that our trailer was supposed to fit in which was the size of a compact car or motorcycle space. They should've comped that due to this fiasco. It rained a lot, it's FL, we know, but we couldn't even walk to our cars with shoes on because of their entrance being flooded and having no drainage. Our biggest issue - THE DOCK.....DO NOT BRING YOUR BOAT!!!! They told us to bring bumpers which we did but there were huge bolts sticking out of the dock everywhere. Our 2 month old boat got ruined in the front and I’ve attached a photo to show the damage. It's outrageous that they charge extra for the docking when their set up was that bad. I hope this review helps someone not make the mistake we made. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO RENT, you will be so happy that you did!
This property is absolutely awesome! Located in Treasure Island, FL right on the bay. The owners are wonderful people! This property gives you a place that's like home while you're away from home. It's very quiet and you have all the privacy you need. Cleaning and up keep is all left to you. Which we don't mind cause hotel housekeeping disturbs us, sometimes. The entrance is like walking through a magical garden! And the pool is perfect for our kids that are aged 8, 5, and 2. They also have a private dock which gives you great view to see dolphins swimming in the bay. Cable and wifi are provided. And it's a 5 to 10 min walk to beach access. You can tell the owners take pride in this place. It's always clean and well maintained! This is definitely going to become one of our go to places for staying in the treasure island st. Pete area.
The hotel was not as we expected. In fact we left and have been staying at another location. Well we did find courtyard charming inside the unit smelled so bad. As we continued through the unit it’s seem to be everywhere and oddly smelled like really Bad body odor in the bathroom. The couch had stains, the bedroom comforter weathered. I have two small children and the bathtub was very old with chips in the paint. I did not feel comfortable bathing them in this environment. The boat trailer parking spot was too small so we searched for two hours to find another location to store it, this is not an easy task with two small children and night time quickly approaching. This is probably a good location if you’re traveling with large dogs and don’t mind the smell they sometimes tend to cause (I’m not a snood that doesn’t have dogs I actually only two of them) if not properly kept up the smell can become unbearable.
