Absolutely wonderful place !! Old school "mom and pop" beach original, will definitely be back !!

The Great Heron Inn. This was a revisit and it was so pleasing to see that it is fully recovered from last years hurricanes. Tina & David have put in so much effort to get it back to pre hurricane condition that they deserve to get bookings. It’s got a lovely pool and most of all the whole place is spotlessly clean. Can’t recommend The Great Heron & Indian Rocks Beach highly enough.

I love this place. The rooms are a little dated, but it's clean, has a nice pool and on the sandwich at the beach.

Cannot recommend this place high enough. Location, cleanliness, staff, price...amazing. The beach is literally the backyard and great restaurants are within walking distance. We decided this will be our go to for future Florida visits.

Nice, clean room for a reasonable price, right on the beach. This is the perfect little place for a relaxing, quiet beach vacation. You really can't beat it.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Great Heron Inn!!! I can't say enough positive things about this place!!! Teena and her staff are friendly and they do such a great job making their guests feel welcome! Our room was huge, clean, and amazing. The location is perfect, too. Situated right on the Gulf of Mexico, you are merely steps away from experiencing one of the most beautiful, soft-sanded beaches in the area. The Gulf is clear and warm. If the beach isn't your thing, take a dip in their clean, sparkling pool and relax to the sounds of gentle waves just beyond the pool deck. Guests of this hotel are also treated to a front row seat to the most breathtaking sunsets you will ever see. Don't miss it! Not only are they a quick 2 minute walk to the bus stop, they are within easy walking/cycling distance of several great restaurants, a nice local brewery, and a few shops, including a well-stocked CVS. This adorable hotel is truly a gem nestled amongst the dunes in Indian Rocks Beach. Thank you, Teena! We hope to return next summer!

I can't say enough good things about this place. I called on Friday and Miss Teena was very sweet and we arranged for me and my best friend to come for a few days. The apartments are very clean, and spacious, with everything you need, and steps from the beach. Staff is very friendly, and they have their own mascot Harry. He loves getting his picture taken. And watching people fish. ( He is a heron). I will definitely be a repeat guest.

I've been coming here for 10 years and this is one of the best hotels I've ever visited. The property, while older, is well-maintained and the staff is always helpful. Teena and her crew love hospitality and always make me feel like I'm at my second home. You also get a direct beach access to Indian Rocks Beach, and it's walking distance to some great dining and nightlife at Crabby Bill's or Slyce. Parking is easy, too. Make this your base of operations for your Florida getaway!
