We stay here every year. Only hotel we get. 2 minute walk to the beach. Clean rooms. RELAXING
Family friends came over from England and many years ago stayed at this motel. Thinking it would be as good or better than 25yrs ago they booked it. What a mistake! They checked out 1st thing in the morning as soon as they found something else. The rooms have no improvements. The room actually looks like it's stuck in the 70s. Everything is old and broken! Smell was moldy. Blinds broken, microwave broken, shower needs bleach, roaches, the list goes on. I wish I could add pictures here! If you're going to keep it this way, might as well sell it so they can knock it down and build a new condo or hotel like the rest of clearwater beach. My friends will never go there again.
Booked it for my lady birthday, I gave it a 5 stars cuz it was way better than what we expected. Room was clean, everything seemed to be fresh. Great hospitality! Walking distance to Clearwater beach and other sites. It felt like home for the 3 days we stayed looking forward to making this a consistant get away!
I had an amazing stay! Great rooms, nice pool, low prices, owners were kind, and very close to the beach. Would definitely stay again!!!! 12/10
I don't usually leave reviews but I feel I must warn people about this place. Advertised as "on the beach", it's actually a block away which is not a huge problem but the room certainly was. We arrived to a musky smelling room filled with cockroaches. And if that wasn't bad enough, someone left a turd in the toilet. To make matters worse, the manager refused to move us to a different room or refund our deposit. Avoid this place at all costs.
1 hour before check in they texted my reservation was cancelled. Not even a phone call. Totally ruined our day trying to find another place to stay. These people need to be out of business if that's how they treat their customers.
Just stayed a week here and wow they've been working hard to clean up after the recent storms making lots of improvements here will always stay with Charmene great host very friendly new A/C in all the units some recent work has been done to the pools can't wait to see the place fully finished
EDIT TO RESPOND TO THE OWNER'S COMMENT BELOW: As stated in my original post, after you told me that a plumber couldn't come out until after we were due to leave, a plumber showed up at 10:00PM at night unannounced wanting us to "find something to do" so that he could attempt to fix the issue. Also, you promised a credit of 50%, of which was NEVER received. All of this is documented of course. Our room did not have warm/hot water. The day before we were set to leave the owner offered to switch our rooms. That room actually did not have RUNNING water in the shower. The owner was never at the hotel itself, the office is always closed. She only communicates via text message. A "plumber" ended up showing up at 10:00OPM on our last night trying to get in and work on it. I told him obviously that was not appropriate due to the time of night and I had a child with me. The owner stated that she would give me a 50% refund and I was very appreciative and agreed to that. I found out from the bank that opposed to a refund she actually tried to re-charge my account for 50% of the cost. I made her aware of this and she said it was a mistake and she would submit the refund. She never did. She quit responding to my text messages and still has not to this day. I had to file a dispute with my bank regarding the charge. Don't waste your money.
While the room was clean, the cooling setup was inadequate. The room relied on a window A/C unit and three box fans, which needed to be strategically placed to keep the bedroom cool. Turning off the fans caused the room to warm up immediately. The property did not have a grill onsite for cooking, and the only available means for preparing food was a microwave. Be warned that if an unforeseen hurricane is approaching, you will not receive a refund for any part of your stay. Despite the obvious danger, the hotel refused to refund me for the unused nights. The staff was uncooperative and showed no empathy for the situation. Their snarky response was, “We are quite accustomed to the weather." This lack of concern for guest safety and inflexibility during a natural disaster is unacceptable, especially when local food businesses are closed and there are no other means of making food. The room and the overall property were clean and well-maintained. The motel is conveniently located within walking distance of an ice cream shop. Check-in was smooth and parking was easy. Overall, while the location and cleanliness of the motel were positive aspects, the poor cooling system, lack of cooking facilities, and the inflexible and unsympathetic response during a hurricane make it difficult to recommend.
We reserved a room on Expedia for this place, just for the weekend. Check-in was unlike anything I've ever experienced, and it was easy as could be. We never had to actually speak with anyone, but there was a number posted to text for emergency issues. I loved the little things that were done to make our stay better. It's an absolute hidden gem and worth what we paid, then some! I wish I could have met the owners, but we will be back soon! I would love to make this a regular thing, since we don't live far!
