The Molloy consistently receives positive reviews, highlighting its excellent location on Treasure Island beach, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations. Guests appreciate the convenient access to the beach, pool, and nearby amenities, alongside a charming, nostalgic atmosphere. While some minor improvements to amenities and bed comfort have been noted, the overall experience is consistently rated highly.
This was a little piece of paradise. The staff is welcoming, the facilities are great and the beach access is perfect. We got an upgraded king suite, the room was beautiful. Very comfortable, the bed was just perfect. We love the full kitchen and full sized fridge. They offer beach chairs and bbq grills which is a nice perk. All around a great little getaway spot we will definitely come again.
We loved our 4-night stay at this charming little hotel! The room was absolutely beautiful - we had a great view over looking the pool and the beach & ocean. The hotel is located on the main drag through Treasure Island (as are all of the hotels that are located right on the beach), but it's completely quiet & relaxing on the hotel grounds. The little area close to the hotel, with the loungers & hammocks, is lovely to sit out at and read or have your morning coffee, and it's just a moment's walk down the little pathway to the ocean. Oh, and the sunsets from the property are incredible. Everybody was so nice & accommodating. It's also very close to so many great beach bars & restaurants, and about a 5 minute drive to Johns Pass. We we so happy to have found this little gem. Can't wait to come back!
GREAT stay at the Molloy!! The place was quiet, quaint, and clean. The room we stayed in was recently renovated and nice! We had a kitchenette and cooked very basic meals during our stay (the Publix is .3 miles away - VERY walkable). The bed was comfy, bathroom was clean, and the pool was warm. We put our room’s wicker basket outside for towel refill and it was filled with clean towels in the morning! The beach is wonderful - towels, chairs (you have to carry them out to the beach yourself but they are lightweight), AND umbrella were available to us from the front desk!! SO clutch for a short trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind, helping us with whatever we needed. SO minor, but no dresser for clothes, no tissues in the bathroom, and only live cable tv. But the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, and the LOCATION make this a spot we would definitely return to again!!!
We stayed for 2 nights in a Gulf view suite which had a small kitchen, a living room and separate bedroom with 2 double beds. The location is incredible with great beach access just behind the property. The beach felt secluded since the area is not overcrowded with the large high rise hotels and condos. The outdoor spaces were well kept and inviting, the pool was clean and at a decent temperature. Their were plenty of chairs, loungers, and a few hammocks to use. For the price we paid, I feel like this was a true bargain given the location and intimate feel of the resort. The room was clean and functional but the beds could be updated to queen size for a bit more comfort. Definitely would recommend staying here. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our late night check-in at 11pm.
This little boutique was a gem!!! Starting from the hospitality of the staff who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and with a crisp clean beach decor. The bed was perfect and the walk in shower gorgeous. But the best feature is it is directly on the beach. They have a great patio area with grills, chairs, tables outside the heated pool area. This is a hidden beauty and we will be back!!!
Great value beachfront property. Nicely renovated rooms had everything we needed for the weekend. Pool was small but warm. Service was friendly. Nostalgic family-run old Florida style motel. Beautiful sandy courtyard with lots of seating and hammocks surrounded by sand dunes leading to the ocean. Walkable to restaurants, Publix, Walgreens and boardwalk. Short drive to many other attractions.
Great location if visiting St. Pete. The room was fine for a two day stay, spacious and light, but could have been cleaner (under the bed dust, base board grime). The room I stayed in (#8) is right next to the washer and dryer. I was told it would be done around 10p, but ran well past 11p, making it quite noisy past usual “quiet hours”. This was the only big downside. Huge upside is the outdoor space between the hotel and the beach, the seating area is lovely. Friendly service as well. Would recommend for budget traveling.
We stayed here over Thanksgiving. It starts out as a cute, unassuming motel, quiet and unpretentious. They have completely renovated the rooms and ours had a kitchenette, well appointed but certainly not a gourmet kitchen. Our room was perfect for 2 adults and a child on the pullout sofa. We didn’t swim in the pool, but several were enjoying it. Another reviewer lamented it was “not on the beach”. If that is a concern, pull up an aerial image. It is not 15 feet to the water’s edge. This beach is very wide, and exceptional! You can step from the pool deck directly to sand and walk thru some dune reclamation to “the beach”. We never heard adjacent rooms except when people walked by the door. Staff was courteous, helpful, and very sweet. All in all, we would certainly stay here again. There are more glamorous resorts, but only one The Molloy!
Gus was so kind and gave us a Gulf front room as we requested. Since I’m recovering from an injury, he made sure we were on the first floor as well. The room was immaculate and very well furnished. The hotel is quaint and quiet. You can use the washer and dryer for just a quarter each, during limited hours. Doug was also very kind and helpful. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Treasure Island!
I stayed here in November for 5 nights/6 days and loved it. My room felt like a cross between an Airbnb room and a hotel/motel room. The staff was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about the property and their guests. The location was perfect for what I was looking for - on the beach with restaurants and stores within 15 minutes of walking. My room had a medium sized fridge, which allowed me to purchase groceries from the nearby grocery store and not eat all of my meals out. I found it easy to drag one of the provided chairs onto the beach closer to the water and loved listening to the sounds of the waves and birds. When a cold front came through, a manager brought a space heater and blanket to my room to ensure that I stayed warm. I also found the bed to be very comfortable and slept well. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation with easy access to the beach, I highly recommend this spot.
