The Birchwood offers a beautiful location and excellent dining experiences, particularly in its rooftop canopy and Vine dining room. However, recent reviews highlight significant concerns regarding room cleanliness and inconsistent service, alongside challenges with parking and noise levels.

For the price, a few common conveniences are expected, but not included. Parking is a nightmare, the noise in this hotel is exceptionally loud, we were on the 3rd floor, main hotel elevator locked at a certain time then have to use the outside one. The snootyness of the employees was a big turnoff Will not be back

Our evening at the Brichwood Canopy was AMAZING! You just can't beat the view. The food was delicious and the drinks were great too. Our server, Judah, was the best. He took care of us all night and had great conversations and a lot of laughs. Ask for Judah if you go!

We visit Saint Petersburg quite often. We live in Port Charlotte but travel up to Beach Drive because it is just so amazing. We were there just for the weekend (12/20 -12/21). The Birchwood is exquisite, the atmosphere in the restaurant was top notch and the dinners we had were the most delicious we had experienced at any of the restaurants we have visited in the past in St. Pete. We returned the next day for brunch as well and the experience was exactly the same. The waitresses, Tonya and Jessica were very attentive and friendly. We met your manager George and he was the nicest person ever. He even took pictures with us and for us. We will return that's a promise. Ron & Christina Andrews

Our stay in room 208 was terrible. The window faced the trash area, which meant we were woken up at 3:00 am by loud bottle noise and again at 6:00 am by the garbage truck. Absolutely impossible to rest. The room was dark, with a view of a wall, the shower did not heat the water properly, and the pillows were some of the most uncomfortable we’ve ever experienced. There was no minibar, and the TV was very outdated — no Netflix or streaming options at all, only local channels. The “included breakfast” was extremely disappointing: just a small station with tea and coffee, a couple of Chobani yogurts, and an overripe banana that was not appealing at all. Pros: The location is excellent, right next to a beautiful waterfront promenade. The restaurant is truly the highlight: excellent food quality and an outstanding wine selection. Conclusion: Despite the great location and restaurant, the room experience was unacceptable. For this reason, I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Beautiful and quaint place. Parking is tight and hard to find on weekends but they do offer valet parking. Would recommend using it. I only have one suggestion... The cleaning started vacuuming around 8 am in hallway outside the rooms. It resignated within the room and there was no sleeping after that. Possibly think of changing the time when they start to vaccum the halls. Otherwise, a great overall experience!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel a couple of weeks ago and really loved the location and the staff. we had drinks and appetizers at the bar downstairs and Summer was very nice and accommodating. Her happiness was contagious. We enjoyed our stay there and the look forward to the next stay. Dale

Lovely 1926 hotel that has been renovated. Makes the electrical funky. The bedside lamp switch is down the hallway at the front door. Long walk in the dark after you turn the light out. Now we just figured out like the bathroom switch if you leave the front hall switch in there’s a hidden switch by the bed. The bathroom switch only works if outside switch is on. The shower has a rain head that takes up the whole shower. Hard for us ladies not to get our hair wet . The on off handle is at the back so you get wet / hair when you turn it on. The rain head is a gentle rain so when you do wash your hair you can’t get the soap out. The Vine dining room food is delicious. They know how to cook a steak. The half chicken was perfect.

I attended a small evening party with reserved space at the birchwood canopy rooftop. The staff was very attentive and service was excellent. We ordered heavy apps and a pasta bar and all were very good. Drinks were excellent- especially the espresso martini. You cant beat the ambiance or the view! Live music was a plus. We’ll be back!

Went to Canopy for drinks and snack. Drinks arrived reasonably fast. But food order took forever and waitress was mostly missing and disinterested. We ordered a cheese and charcuterie plate and it was fair quality. Better choice's. Nearby Additional star for view only

We had an amazing night here! We had a room with a balcony overlooking Beach Drive. The view was incredible. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was awesome with a claw foot tub and a good-sized shower. The surrounding area was very lively and bustling on a Saturday night, but the noise started to die down around midnight and we're night owls anyway, so sleeping wasn't a problem at all. The staff here were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to go back!
