The Belleview Inn offers a historic and charming retreat with a strong emphasis on guest service and access to a luxurious sister property on Clearwater Beach. Recent reviews highlight exceptional staff, beautiful grounds, and a peaceful atmosphere, though some concerns have been raised regarding room cleanliness and limited breakfast options.
FIVE STARS - WOULD GIVE MORE IF I COULD. I mistakingly threw away my wallet in a housekeeping cart and within 2 hours the BVI team located it and returned it to me. Dumpster diving for a stranger and guest was unprecedented service. Absolutely above and beyond. I’m eternally grateful - their service helped me get home on time with no issues. Everyone should host their event here.
Absolutely amazing! I cannot speak highly enough of the Inn, staff and overall experience. The cleanliness of the entire property is pristine. We visited with our children (9,3,1) and while it is not geared for children- we never felt out of place or unwelcome. They had a fun time running around the outside areas, swimming, playing bags and bocce ball. The croissants, orange juice and fruit were such a nice touch. I would visit again in a heartbeat!! I cannot believe it was only listed as 3.5 star online- it was a more luxury experience than 4 and 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at on clear water beach. We also took advantage of visiting their sister property’s semi-private beach which was fantastic. Complimentary valet alone made that worth it instead of paying $40+ just to park to visit the beach. They had complimentary beach chairs and we reserved sun umbrellas for $30. The beach area was clean, calm and inviting as was the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the Belleview Inn very much. We were looking for a relaxing weekend to spend time with friends. The staff was super helpful any time we had questions. Laurenz went out his way to find us a place to play cards even though there was a wedding party staying for the weekend. The hotel allows access to their sister property on the beach in Clearwater Beach. The area is quiet and you will have to drive a bit to go to restaurants but it was perfect for us. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. We would stay again.
We loved our time here! The hotel is gorgeous with so much character. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the breakfast delivery every morning, the yard games for our kids, and the close vicinity to the beach!
It's an historic hotel that used to be right on the Gulf. Bit it was moved back and now the view is of industrialized-like apartment buildings. There is no food or restaurant nor is the bar up and running. Free croissants and juice for breakfast was nice. Very quiet and away from the hustle bustle of the beach. Strange vibe.
My wife and I stayed for our anniversary and enjoyed our stay! An exceptional experience, historic building and friendly staff, who recommended places nearby to eat and even the restaurant was great! It was very quiet, nestled within a gated community secluded enough from tourists but close enough to the beaches and shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend this place - we are already talking about returning very soon!
This place is remarkable. It’s so quiet and secluded away from the loud touristy parts of Clearwater Beach. My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and can’t wait to return. We are a more relaxed couple, and didn’t want to be awoken in the middle of the night by loud parties, or slamming doors or elevator dings. This place was perfect. Well appointed, clean, and charming. Nora greeted us and made our stay so lovely and special. She took our stay from a great stay to an exceptional stay. She cared about every detail and genuinely helped make our stay lovely. My husband and I took a bike ride through the neighborhood down to the water. We went kayaking and saw manatees. We went to the Sand Pearl and relaxed on the beach. We already want to return for longer next time.
The property was beautiful, safe and quiet. The staff didn't seem to speak much at all after we checked in. The room was comfortable and clean and the bed was also comfortable. The property is romantic and historic. Even though it is not beachfront, it was nice that their sister resort did offer a beachfront. The breakfast picnic baskets were a nice surprise! However, staying for 4 consecutive nights, it would have been nice it they would have changed the items around instead of having the same choice every morning. Overall, a great, nice relaxing environment!
I spent a long holiday weekend at the Belleview Inn and overall the stay was good. I called the hotel at 1pm the day we were to check in to ask if the room was available and if we could check in early. The front desk confirmed the room was ready and we were able to check in at 1:30 which was perfect for our afternoon plans. The property is gorgeous and in a great location for the things we came to the area for. I loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the pool each morning and afternoon. The breakfast baskets in the morning were a nice touch. We ate a proper breakfast at the country club one morning and the service there was great. The room had a coffee table-type book about the history of the hotel and the property which was very interesting to read! I wish I could give this hotel 5 stars but unfortunately on the first night, when I turned down my bed, I found a significant amount of dirt and sand in the sheets! Because we had a packed itinerary the day we checked in, I didn't have an opportunity to turn down the bed until after 10pm. I went down to the front desk to let them know. The woman at the desk (I wish I got her name!) was as shocked as I was and tried to look for a room to rebook us - it was so late and I was exhausted from the day that I just asked for clean sheets to remake the bed myself. She mentioned rectifying the situation (I believe she said an adjustment to my reservation but I was so tired that I can't remember the exact word) but upon inspection of my invoice after checkout, nothing was comped or adjusted. A few minutes later the woman from the front desk delivered clean sheets to my room and visually inspected the bed and agreed that it was unacceptable. She also mentioned wanting to rebook us for a different room but was unable to because there were people at the desk waiting to check in and there were no other rooms available. The following day, housekeeping remade the bed that I haphazardly threw together late the night before which was much appreciated. It was a frustrating moment which unfortunately led me to question the cleanliness of everything else in the room for the remainder of the stay, even though everything besides the bed looked clean. Overall I think I would give this hotel a second chance if I had plans in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to book a stay here.
This hotel was the perfect way to end our trip in Tampa. Away from the hustle and bustle of Clearwater and central Tampa, it was a quiet retreat in a beautiful setting. The hotel had a luxury yet relaxing feel to it - a colonial type property with beautiful decor. There was a small cafe, bar, gym and pool onsite. We hired the hotel bikes and cycled some of the Pinellas Way and back along the coastal road. Our hotel room overlooked the pool and golf course with sea views in the distance. The marina was a short walk away. Clearwater was a short drive away. Staff were welcoming and friendly. As hotel guests you have the option of visiting the sister hotel in Clearwater (Sandpearl Resort) - we went over for sunset one evening but it was definitely more of a family friendly busy resort in comparison. I personally much preferred the ambience and tranquility of the Belleview Inn. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel and only wished we could have stayed longer.
