We visited for my husband to attend a conference… and for me to have a little vacation ?? Absolutely stunning hotel. Each space is designed impeccably, and feels both welcoming and homey while also feeling like being surrounded by art. Every staff member was exceptional, especially Amy at the front desk who was so friendly and helpful! The location is unreal- right on the water for unimpeded sunset views, even able to see dolphins most days right beyond the pool deck. The resort has everything you need- the spa was fantastic (Tammy for massage was incredible), the poolside/oceanside Sandbar food and drinks were great, the sister hotel across the street had a coffee shop. I highly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely plan to return!

We chose Opal Sands Resort for our babymoon and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, and the location right on Clearwater Beach makes it feel like a true getaway the moment you arrive. Our room was incredible, spacious, modern, and the ocean views from the balcony were great. The staff throughout the property were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurants on property were also top notch. Every meal we had was excellent and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience without ever needing to leave the resort. I also had a prenatal massage at the spa, which was superb. The therapist was knowledgeable and made the experience incredibly relaxing, exactly what you want during a babymoon. The only thing that surprised us was that the spa itself does not offer amenities like a sauna, steam room, or hot tub. It didn’t impact my experience since I’m pregnant and wouldn’t be able to use those anyway, but my husband was a little disappointed since those are typically part of the spa experience at resorts like this. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend Opal Sands, especially for a relaxing beachfront getaway.

Visited for a business conference. Staff was great. Food was amazing especially considering most things were served buffet style. Meats were juicy and not overcooked very surprising. Staff was friendly and rooms were really nice. Very spacious and clean. Bed slept good(when I was able to actually sleep lol). The drinks were lacking on the spiritz a bit it seemed. Would come back, price was worth it.

My husband and I and our two little kids had such a wonderful stay at Opal sands. The location was beautiful--the beach was only a few steps away and so clean. The sand was so soft it felt like flour!! The pools were heated and key for swimming because it was chillier than normal. We had a king suite. The room was spacious and had all of the amenities needed for the four of us, including a crib. The drawers were stalked with extra towels and we always had toiletries replenished before returning to our room after dinner. Speaking of food, all restaurants on site were incredible!! We visited Drift, seaguini and toast. We enjoyed everything from seafood pasta, pizza, short rib and grouper. The kids loved their menu options as well. The cafe market was great for quick smoothies or bowls on the go.

Opal Sands and the entire staff will forever hold a special place in my husband’s and my hearts. We worked with Alexis Weisner for our wedding at Opal Sands, and she was absolutely the best. She was kind, detail-oriented, and so easy to work with, and truly helped make our wedding day beyond special. We wanted a space close to the beach and water, and Opal Sands’ lawn space was absolutely perfect. The food was top-notch and delicious, and our room for the weekend was gorgeous. It was the perfect space for getting ready, photos, and unwinding after all the celebrations. Beyond that, the Opal Sands team truly treated us like family and made sure every part of our stay, our wedding, and our guests’ experience was exceptional. We could not have made a better choice for our wedding venue. My husband and I cannot wait to come back and stay at Opal Sands again, hopefully making it a yearly tradition to remind ourselves of the perfect day we had at such a tremendous resort.

The resort itself is nice. Location is good. But the real issue came about when my wife and I were enjoying a drink with friends at the Sand Bar while our early teen kids were mini golfing down the block. When the kids came back they were interrogated by the staff, asking what their name was and what room they were staying in, all because someone (wrongly) accused some kids who I guess looked like them of throwing things from the balcony on the 12th floor (we were staying on the 4th and there is no way they would have had access to the 12th floor balconies). When they weren’t satisfied with the kids’ answers, some guy who works there came to the Sand Bar and demanded like the Gestapo to know our last names and room numbers. I asked to talk to his manager, the manager never showed up. When my wife received a text message asking to rate her stay, she explained the same situation to whoever was on the other end of the phone. That person asked if she’d be willing to speak with somebody about the experience. My wife said yes. No one ever called. For the price of this resort, go somewhere else. There are much better options on the beach, especially for families. The Sand Pearl is a much better resort all around, and for kids I’d rather stay at the Marriott on Sand Key then stay here again.

There’s just something different about the Opal Hotel chain. This hotel, and its sister hotel across the street are nothing but amazing. You can tell these hotels are simply, just ran excellent. The staff is super friendly and happy. The restaurants are top notch, and location is almost unbeatable. Also comes with a very nice pool area, and super close beach access that makes it easy to enjoy the sand. The rooms feel brand new, and the bathroom layouts are genius. I will definitely be recommending Opals Sands, and Sol to everyone I know. Thank you for making my wife’s birthday trip one we will remember forever…. AND, you can see dolphins from your rooms balcony!!

We had a wonderful stay at Opal Sands Hotel. The rooms are clean, modern, and beautifully designed, and the view is absolutely incredible. We stayed in room 512 and could hear the waves from our room, which made the experience even better. The pool was lovely and heated, which was perfect for our December visit. The beach area was also very nice, clean, and well-maintained. The staff here truly made the stay memorable. Shelby at the front desk was fantastic, and Ruby in housekeeping took great care of us. Everyone we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and attentive. We would definitely return and highly recommend Opal Sands for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I visited from out of town and, although I didn’t stay on the property, I booked a spa appointment at Opal Sands to celebrate my birthday—and it absolutely did not disappoint. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming, kind, and professional, with wonderful personalities that immediately made me feel special. My massage therapist, Jay, truly stole the show. I have been seeing the same massage therapist back home for over five years and always considered him the best—until now. Jay exceeded all expectations. His massage was incredibly effective, deeply relaxing, and highly professional. I left feeling completely rejuvenated, with all the tension and knots in my back gone. If I lived in Clearwater, I would book with Jay every weekend without hesitation. I also enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine and had access to some of the hotel amenities, which added to the overall luxury of the experience. At checkout, the front desk staff went above and beyond by gifting me complimentary products and a handwritten birthday card—a truly thoughtful touch. Opal Sands ended up being the highlight of my trip. Thank you to the wonderful staff and to Jay for providing such a luxurious experience and for making my birthday so memorable.
