The South Beach Condo Hotel receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising its excellent location, cleanliness, and amenities like beach access and a pool. However, recurring issues with staff communication, appliance malfunctions (particularly the dryer), and inconsistent service have been reported. While some find it a great value, others have experienced difficulties with check-in procedures and room readiness.
Our room was excessively clean. There was a lot of opportunities for corners or crevices to be overlooked but they were not. I was thrilled with the cleanliness and hope whoever is responsible for the housekeeping is valued. The price and location are fantastic and I really liked not having daily housekeeping and the bins in the hallway for trash and recycling that seemed to be emptied multiple times a day. Also, when we got our towel refresh on day 4, they brought us so many. Our cons were mostly related to the awkward communication from the staff and their seeming lack of communication with each other. Upon our arrival I saw a few things in the room that were notably, yet superficially, damaged. Their website states to let them know if the unit has any damage or one may risk being charged for said damage. As we were leaving I mentioned the things I saw to the woman at the front desk and I just felt like she was really weirded out by it. My boyfriend had to fix the toilet three times because the float kept detaching. The dryer turned on for a few seconds and then refused to start again. I had to take all the wet laundry to the laundromat because it was prior to the front opening for the day. When I returned I let another lady at the front desk know and she told me I probably had a vapor dryer and just needed to dump the water out. I told her it was a regular dryer and it just wasn't working. She said she'd try to find someone to look at it. There was a housekeeper present and she was really sweet and said had they known I could have used their dryer. She also offered to help me carry the laundry up to our room. Five minutes later an older gentleman showed up and said he didn't fix appliances but he would take a look. He couldn't fix it either. He said the front desk would provide me a location to do laundry. To be fair I never asked but they also never offered one up. The next day the gentleman came back and measured the dryer area and said the unit owner was going to buy a new dryer. Three days later our unit phone rang and when I answered it I was told Home Depot would be delivering our new dryer in FIVE MINUTES. When she sensed my ignorance she asked if we had been notified we were getting a dryer delivered and I told her no. My other qualm was we were really looking forward to just ordering pizza and watching the Bucs on Thursday night football. Thankfully I tried to switch over to my own Prime account in the morning and the tv would not let me log in. They had Prime TV but not Prime Video. I tried casting from my phone but because their account couldn't be signed out that didn't work either. We ended up having to go out to a bar and it was very inconvenient. Nothing about this place was terrible but I think we just had a weird accumulation of many extenuating oddities.
Nice place, great location. The only thing I didn't like was you could hear the people in the unit above us.
Very relaxing stay. No hasles. Staff was super helpful and courteous. Thank so much South Beach.
Clean place and great service from the receptionist Jennifer! They even have beach chairs in the room to use on the beach! Decent view of the gulf on the second floor.
We've stayed here 3 times. Our favorite condo to stay in. Has washer/dryer, kitchen with large fridge and cookware, spacious, comfortable beds, within walking distance to much, beach front view, pool, barbecue grills, games, on the beach, beautiful views from balcony. Clean, not a wild crazy party place, quality and service, excellent location, parking on-site or ride bikes or scooters.
Our place was very clean. You can’t beat the beautiful views. The outside area was great with hammocks, shuffleboard, ping pong and more. The staff was great! Cindi and Diane were so welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They made us feel at home. We borrowed chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. Highly recommend!
We booked through booking.com. When we tried to check in (at 7pm) there was a sign that the office is open from 9-5 (check-in from 3-5pm). This information was not given to us by booking. When we tried to call the "Emergency number" noone picked up the phone (other hotel guests tried to help and also called the several numbers that where shown around the reception area, but no luck). There was a key box - and as we finally found out that we need a code, we checked our emails again and saw that we got a code at shortly before 5pm for key box no 1 (partially broken, getting the key out was therefore a challenge). We booked a room for 4 people...one room with 1 double bed was ready to use. The sofa bed was not made and we were unable to find an the necessary inflation thing to inflate the matress (found out the next day that it was hidden in a treasure box in the living room). There was no explanation on how the bed can be set up, not in zhe room, not in the emails, nor online or on booking. All 4 had to spend the first night in one bed as sleeping on the sofa was impossible. When you pay 680 Dollars for 2 nights we do think that you can expect the beds being made for the amount of guests that you have booked for! When we asked the lady at the reception why the bed was not ready she answered that this is how they handle it here and that they have never gotten the same feedback before...sure!!
Place had bed bug covers which had blood on them. And the entire unit is affected by cigarette smoking. Nicotine soot sits on every piece of fabric in the unit as well on the walls, doors etc. Disgusting second hand smoke exposure.
I had a first hand experience with staff and the customer service is second to known. The customer service representative, Maria who is located on site, goes above and beyond to help customers. Not all resorts provide that level of customer service from my previous experiences. So if you are in contact with her you are definitely in good hands and she will find the right accommodations for you!
Quiet, clean, and close to the beach. Great views from every suite, ample parking. Great value for a beach stay.
