Sirata Beach Resort receives mixed reviews, primarily due to ongoing construction and renovation efforts impacting the guest experience. While many guests praise the beautiful beachfront location, friendly staff, and overall ambiance, significant concerns regarding room cleanliness, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service have been raised. Recent renovations appear to be improving the property, but some guests report outdated rooms and a lack of transparency regarding construction timelines.
They are remodeling, hard to get to beach. Not enough help for restaurants and bars. We had a dirty bath cloth behind our toilet. Rest of rooms were clean, it was just forgotten. The body wash was empty and only one bar of soap available.
The room was in dire need of renovation. I was in building four. The elevators looked like they had never been cleaned in years. The bathtub sounded like it was going to fall through the floor every time I got in it and the drain was so slow there would be 2 inches of standing water by the time I was finished with my shower. It was nice that there was a refrigerator and a microwave. The service I received from all of the employees was absolutely top-notch. Location was beautiful and the beach was always clean. The price was outrageous for the lack of quality of the room.
EVENT PLANNERS TAKE NOTE: We hosted a group event at Sirata Beach Resort with approximately 80 attendees and a total contracted spend of about $34,000. During our stay, there was ongoing construction and property conditions that were not disclosed at the time of contracting. These conditions impacted the overall experience for our group. In addition, we observed several facility concerns, including an unpleasant odor in the lobby area, railings that were loose in some locations, an understaffed restaurant resulting in long wait times, and elevator inspection documentation that was not current. The hotel's contracted block room price was not discounted at all, in fact, room rates online were at greatly reduced prices. After the event, we requested a goodwill adjustment. Initially, over the phone, the manager offered 5% of our group's total spend, but after we told him that was not satisfactory, the final compensation offered in writing was 1% of total spend. While attrition terms were adjusted (common for most group bookings), no additional consideration was extended relative to the size of the event. Communication following the event included a missed scheduled call and delayed responses. Hilton's review confirmed that compensation decisions are handled solely at the property level. This property does NOT live up to the Hilton brand name. The beachfront location is appealing (when there is no construction.) Event planners should request full written disclosure of any construction or operational changes prior to contracting. Also, discounts on room rates should be available to large groups. Needless to say, we won't be holding our reunion events there again.
We just stayed at Sirata last week for our girls trip we have been doing for 14 years! We stayed there last year and loved it. Rebooked the same type of room for our stay this year. Upon arrival, they didn’t have the room we booked. After waiting about 5 hours they gave us a room we initially booked. At first glance the room looked great but the patio chairs all had holes in them and 2 of the 3 chairs we were not able to use. The curtains all had mold in the folds and mold in the bathroom shower. It took them 3 days to bring a blanket to our room after at least 5 requests. My friend slept in the hide abed with her sweatshirt and a sheet. After receiving a response to my friend posting a review with the same problems and pictures on Facebook, she was told that we weren’t even staying at the Sirata. The building we stayed in was someone else’s hotel and we could use their amenities. We were still expected to pay the price we were quoted when we booked. At least the resort fees should be waived with all the construction going on. No restaurant except for the bar food at Rum Runners and Harry’s when it was open. The staff was great except for the two guys who checked us in. Susie at RumRunners and Shellie at the front desk were great!
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a genuinely pleasant experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and efficient with the check-in process. The lobby was clean, modern, and created a great first impression. The room itself was spotless and well-maintained, with comfortable bedding and thoughtful amenities. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere at night, which made it easy to relax and get a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was clean and stocked with quality toiletries, and housekeeping did an excellent job throughout my stay. The location was another major highlight, conveniently situated near restaurants, shops, and local attractions, making it easy to get around without hassle. Breakfast offered a good variety of fresh options, and the dining area was well organized. If I had to mention one small downside, it would be that the Ice Machine was down but it was already replaced before we left, this didn’t significantly impact my overall experience. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and friendly service. I would happily stay here again. ??
We had our wedding at the Sirata and couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. The venue is beautiful, the location is perfect, and the whole weekend just felt easy and fun for us and our guests. Everything went smoothly on the wedding day, and we got so many compliments from friends and family about the setting and overall experience. Kelli Love was a huge reason it all came together so well. She was awesome to work with and genuinely cared about making sure our day was exactly what we wanted. She took a lot of the stress off our plate. We’d absolutely recommend the Sirata to anyone looking to get married here
Our stay at Sirata was a definite highlight for our trip. We stayed during a trip to the area for girls lacrosse. The recent renovation looks good and the resort feels clean, updated, and welcoming. For the price, the value is excellent, especially with the location right on St. Pete Beach. The pools, beach access, and on-site food options made everything easy. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed every part of our stay. One big surprise for our sports family was free washers and dryers! Honestly, I would definitely come back again. Our experience was nothing but positive.
A resort in transition — with staff that deserve 5 stars. Mark at the front desk is exactly the kind of person every beachfront property dreams of having — calm, pleasant, and genuinely good energy. The rest of the team seems cut from the same cloth: friendly, hard-working, and doing their best to make every guest feel welcome. That part? Flawless. But it’s also clear the property itself is in flux. You can see the investment and effort underway — fresh paint, updated spaces, that feeling of “almost there.” Unfortunately, my renovated room still had that flipper-house vibe — nice from a distance, but a closer look tells another story. Rusted fluorescent light fixture in the bathroom. Mattresses so soft they’ve gone concave on one side. Details that add up. There’s potential here, and the location is unbeatable — but it’s caught mid-evolution. If the craftsmanship ever matches the kindness of the staff, this place will shine as bright as the Gulf sunset.
I'm a diamond member and was not upgraded or even acknowledged that I was a diamond member until checkout where they thanked me for being a diamond member. Coming off elevator first thing I see is a massive dead roach ?. I asked if they could sweep it up and they said they would but never did. So each morning it was there to greet me. Upon entering the room there was a very strong damp/mold smell. TV was not working so I had to call to have someone fix it. Decided I wanted to take a shower and water would not get hot. Called the front desk and they confidently told me I would need to wait at least 15 min since my room was soo far from the boiler. So each time I wanted a shower I would have to plan in advance. The bed was lumpy and no comforter, just sheets and thicker sheets. Used (120k points) and feel like it was not worth it. I would not stay here again. Some positives is that it was right on the beach ?? and in a great walkable location. Also Staff was pleasant.
The rooms had bugs in them. No phones. We paid for 2 rooms. We were relocated to noisy rooms that were older. Exhaust fans didn't work showers were hazardous no grips in the floor or mats. Fridge warped rooms didn't cool off. Only plus was those rooms were clean. Not what we ordered. Front desk Mark was polite but clue less needed more training. He gave us Brad Cochrans cell # said he would accommodate us. I called texted Mr. Cochran several times with no reply. I even saw him walking around the pool. I asked a bar tender who he was. Only when the service manager at the pool went and Retrieved Shelly hotel customer relations mgr. Did we get somewhat of satisfaction They had a wedding there and room renovations is why she said she was having a hard time relocating both rooms together. Offered a king suite. My sister and I shared a bed. My husband and brother WERE NOT GOING to share a king bed. She indicated it had a sofa bed. Who wants to travel 20 hours to sleep on a sofa bed. She did do her best to help. We were credited both rooms back for only one night. (Should have been at least 2 nights credited. But i didnt feel like arguing.)Do to the room changes we honestly lost . Days switching packing up 3 x. She also credited a $100. In food for the room my husband and brother didn't move too. Not worth packing up a third time. For a nother room with a different view that was not next to us that was requested months ago. This trip was to memorialize my daughter she loved this place. The place is beautiful but understaffed and is going under noisy renovations. Location is nice. But over priced for what you get. The pool service by savanna was excellent! The third room was bigger. Shower door leaked and the second night we had no water had to wait for engineers to come fix it. We lost our reservation for dinner than the next day workers above us and beside us starting at 8 am banging and installing hand rails. At this point we were just over it. Couldn't wait to leave! Mr. COCHRAN. NEVER returned a text or a follow up call. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! It's ashame we had loved staying at this hotel.
