The Provident Oceana Beachfront Suites offers beachfront accommodations with stunning sunset views and generally positive guest feedback. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in cleanliness, equipment functionality, and pet policy adherence, alongside some exceptional service experiences. Parking and potential construction noise also present minor concerns.
This is a good hotel to stay in, we had rooms on the Pacific side and those sunsets are incredible. The balcony we had was more or less shielded from the wind and perfect for sitting and watching the world go by. It's a little bit of a walk to get to amenities, but not too far, other hotels further up we're a lot closer. Couple of minutes in a car or a jaunty walk to Publix. Rooms, bathrooms, kitchenette, all were good without being exceptional. That being said we had a room with a broken washing machine. Repair dude turned up the second day, diagnosed it as fubar and there it sat utterly useless. There was also some construction that started opposite, looking around the local space it seems like there's scope for that to happen more often. Not complaining about this as it is what it is, but others may find that off-putting. As we were out mostly when the construction was on it barely mattered for my stay.
We've lodged here ever since they were 1st built. We love the bay front and beach front options. This stay was brach front. We came to rest after a family vacation at Universal this stay. I love they have washer/dryer in the room. There's full size fridge & dishwasher. However, our dishwasher was not in working condition this particular visit. The washer was wonky, needs to be repaired as the buttons were somehow pushed back into the frame and difficulty getting it to start. The icemaker was not working well either, so I will report these 3 issues. I still give them 5 stars as they are always accommodating and very good at getting us in and always addressed any issues (which are very few) in the past. The guest service people are super nice. We definitely recommend & will return again. There are beach rental available. You are only just a short drive to many restaurants and shopping and grocery needs. It's roomy with a fold out sofa bed couch in the living room. We stay in the 2 bedroom ones. One bedroom is kings with ocean view and the other is queen. Full kitchen with a bar that seats 4 and an additional table that seats 4 to 6 comfortably. There's a large balcony and sliding glass doors off the living area that has seating. Each room has assigned parking g so you are assured 1 space. There is minimal guest parking spaces so be aware if you have guests to prepare and car pool. There is a public parking lot just only a quarter mile down the road so if need be, you guest's can park there and walk or be picked up there (I do believe it's paid parking, so may want to investigate) We've never had an issue ourselves as we haven't had guests during our visits. However, we have had oversized vehicles/smaller sized Van RV and they have allowed us a quest spot or bigger space to accommodate us. So know they will do everything possible to help. I would just want to warn that perhaps during busy season, if more than 1 vehicles perhaps be warned parking might be an issue. We always return so this is definitely a sign it's a very nice place to stay.
The worst costume service I have ever received. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to canceled my reservation. My daughter was admitted into the hospital 1 day prior to my reservation. They tell me if “I’ve cancelled 5 days prior” I could have received a refund (hosted by provident resorts in Treasure island, Florida) through Airbnb . That’s unacceptable, who can predict an illness let alone a hospital admission. You cannot hold everyone to that same standard! It’s ridiculous you cannot have some empathy or consideration and refund the money back! So what? you except someone dead to still show up! Because they didn’t died 5 days prior or became sick 5 days prior?! Absolutely the worst costume service!
Great location and nicely appointed condos. East building is very serene with the Boca Ciera Bay. West building (gulf side) has the best sunset views. View from our 3rd floor beachside balcony. Sunrise and sunset were spectacular. We had a perfect view of the fireworks for New Year’s Eve. Looking forward to our next stay.
Spent my wife’s birthday weekend here, we needed new linens and towels mid weekend and the office was quite prompt in getting new ones for us, super helpful, stocked kitchen and well furnished condos, highly recommend
We stayed on the beachfront property. Absolutely stunning view! Room was very clean and spacious. Staff is super friendly and helpful. It was a staycation for us as we live locally. Will definitely be back. Side note- Ricky T's which is a 5-block walk is awesome! Great food.
Nice location Pools & hot tubs are nice but small. Easy beach access. Can watch sunset and sunrise from the two buildings. Parking can be limited. The 2nd bedroom very small. Bathrooms very small, no towel hooks or counter space. Only good for 2 to 4 people. Need a good cleaning as bath tile moldy.
I go to this place every year to go to the beach on the gulf side. Since I live in Orlando not Tampa we drive 2 hrs to the suites and we stay for 4 days. Last time I went the room was on the second floor on the right. It was amazing. I will come back.
Overall, the hotel was wonderful—clean facilities, good service, and a pleasant stay. However, there’s an important detail worth mentioning. I chose this hotel because it was listed as “Pet Friendly,” and I travel with my cat. When we contacted the hotel, we were told they only accept dogs, which was disappointing. As a result, my husband had to return home for two nights to care for our cat, which affected our experience and kept us from fully enjoying the trip. I personally felt uneasy knowing our pet was not with us. I believe the hotel should clearly state that they only accept dogs, since the term “Pet Friendly” can be misleading for guests traveling with other types of pets. Being specific would help avoid confusion and improve the experience for future guests.
Very clean, well-located. I rented a beachfront apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The staff is friendly, but the apartment needs some important details. The bathrooms don't have hooks for hanging clothes, nor do they have shelves for personal hygiene. The kitchen has very few cooking utensils. It's just a medium-sized pot, a small one, and a few pans. This is a family apartment that also includes cooking. There isn't even a single ladle of broth. The kitchen should be fully equipped with utensils. The trash can is very small and there are no extra nylons. It's a family apartment, not a room for 1 or 2 people.
