Malyn Resort offers a retro-style stay in Treasure Island with convenient access to the beach and bay. Recent reviews highlight a positive experience with the property manager, Scott, and the attractive dock for wildlife viewing, but significant concerns exist regarding unreliable communication and last-minute cancellations due to ongoing renovations.
Hard to beat the location in Treasure Island. If you are looking for a small affordable room with heated pool and fishing dock, then Malyn motel is for you. You get the nice beautiful view of the bay with a dock so you can go fishing. Shuffleboard, heated pool, outdoor chairs and patio with TV, charcoal grills. Our unit 111 did not have a dishwasher, unsure of others. Scott has been very helpful on site and will address any of your needs. No laundry in rooms but does have shared washer and dryer for use. Would recommend for others when staying in treasure island.
We had a nice stay here during XMas 2025 . We used the pool which had a nice warm temperature and loved that we were steps from the dock . We saw dolphins feeding there and it’s a great spot to sit and enjoy the view . Our room was clean and modern and bed very comfortable , bathroom had a great shower . Would recommend .
This cute, quiet, and nostalgic place was perfect for our family of 3 with a baby. The price was the cheapest we could find in the area, the location was great with lovely views of the bay and a 7 minute walk to treasure island beach. The on-site manager was helpful and friendly.
We stayed for a week in unit 103. This is a ground floor, newly renovated room right outside the entrance to the pool. There were a few hiccups that the manager, Scott, quickly took care of. He does a great job. Pool and pool area were great as was the dock. It was a great place to dolphin watch with our morning coffee or afternoon/evening drinks. Beach, bars and restaurants are all within walking distance. There is a shuttle available and the drivers work for tips. Loved this little resort and we are booked to come back in October.
I’m sympathetic to hurricane damage, but I’m not sympathetic to hurricane damage that is undisclosed on their official website and business practices that still allow booking a reservation, yet no way to contact management until they contact you to cancel your reservation less than a week before your trip. After numerous attempts to get in touch with management after seeing negative reviews on Google trickle in, I found their Facebook where I received CONFIRMATION a month before our trip, that our reserved room would be ready by our trip dates, just to receive a text message 4 days before our trip to inform us of just the opposite. The manager offered to try to help find alternative lodging, but could not guarantee comparable lodging, or that our original reservation price could be honored. With that in mind and credit card travel insurance, we opted to find our own replacement lodging. However due to the shady business communications, we have now been fighting with our travel insurance to pay the difference. Had we known there was damage, we never would’ve booked here 5 months in advance and experienced this terrible headache. Had we been able to get in touch with management, we could’ve made alternate arrangements. Had we been given honest information one month earlier, we would’ve had more options. Truly I believe it is this business that owes us the difference in price we had to pay for lodging for this trip that was fully booked and paid for almost 6 months in advance. I’m sure the actual stays would’ve been lovely. Unfortunately I feel it is my responsibility to warn others to strongly consider the financial risk of making a reservation here.
I was very happy with this lodging. The property manager Scott greeted us upon arrival and was very friendly. Room was clean. Within walking distance from lots of activities and ride share services were never far away when we wanted to venture out further. Pool was great. Would recommend.
This review is in regards to Scott, the new property manager. We made a reservation which we ultimately had to cancel, but Scott offered world-class customer service and was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. We'll definitely keep this location on our radar for future beach trips.
This place isn't even open yet, but it is taking reservations on Airbnb. I booked over five months ago, and after reading some recent reviews, I decided to reach out to confirm if we are still good to go for the weekend. I received no reply, and the phone number was offline. Today, it was confirmed that my reservation has been canceled—just two days before my arrival. This is unacceptable and a terrible business practice. I understand there was a hurricane and that the owner is rebuilding, but they should have the decency to inform customers in advance. As a result, I was forced to book another place at a higher price, which could have easily been avoided if the owner had been upfront and honest. For anyone who has booked this property, I recommend canceling while you still can. I would give this place negative stars if I could. It’s simply brutal.
We booked our stay months in advance, only to be informed just 48 hours before check-in that they could no longer accommodate us. This last-minute cancellation left us scrambling with very limited options, ultimately forcing us to book a much more expensive hotel, costing an additional $400. We understand they are still in the process of rebuilding, but notifying guests with such short notice is completely unacceptable. With even a week’s notice, we could have made other appropriate arrangements. It’s clear they would have known well before 48 hours whether they could host guests, so the timing of the cancellation felt avoidable and inconsiderate.
To whom responded to my review, we are very pleased with the Malyn Resort! We just could not get an answer if the resort was going to be open! No one would answer our calls (the phone seemed to be disconnected) I know the area was devastated with hurricane. I didn't mean for review to be negative Just needed to know what was going on. John Farrell We have stayed there 2 times. Gave a deposit for this year, we cannot get any response on our reservation! Christen left! We are scheduled for this March 28th through April 30th . Room 109. We would really like an answer The new manager has not been answering our calls. Phone goes the number is not available! Hopefully the owner of condo 109 will contact us! We have really enjoyed our stay there!
