La Quinta Inn By Wyndham Tampa Bay Pinellas Park Clearwater consistently receives negative feedback, primarily centered around cleanliness, maintenance issues, and poor service. Several guests reported issues ranging from mold and broken appliances to uncleaned rooms and aggressive upselling tactics. While some staff members were noted for being friendly, the overall experience appears to be significantly lacking.
I would not recommend this hotel. My family and I have stayed here for six nights, and during that time the staff hasn't cleaned our room even once: the beds have never been made, and the towels have never been changed – nothing at all. After just a few days, pink mold began to appear in the shower, which clearly shows how poor the cleanliness is. Furthermore, breakfast consists of only a small bag of packaged food; honestly, I would not recommend it at all. We even asked at the front desk one day to please have our room cleaned, but no one came.
It was gross and they put my family in an unfinished room. Also the staff i talked to over the phone said they would have a manager call me back when shes in and then just hung up. I can recommend other cheap hotels other than this one.
The rooms were nice. But, the outside hallway was dirty. My rug in front of my room was torn. The elevator was from the 80's and run down. The lobby was nice. I missed the breakfast, so I can't inform you about that.
I stayed there and it was awful they put me on the 3rd floor nothing worked there was broken glass and missing furniture. The tvs screen would not turn on and only the sound would. They then moved me down a floor after I said hey the appliances do not work. Not as bad but just imagine cheap Florida landlord fixes and thats what youd get. We had to unplug some appliances to charge our phones and other things and one of them was a lamp so the room stayed dark unless we turned on the bathroom light on the otherwise of the room. I said its fine we'll work with. This is when it really became a problem when we left we left a pillow that someone in our family can't sleep with out. We were already halfway thorough Florida when we noticed we called and asked the guy said yes they have it and i was like great he told me I have 24 hours before they would throw it away. I said dont do that I have a friend ready to pick up. I sent my friend she said the guy handed her a bag with our room number and sent to us. When we got it it was brand new walmart women clothes with the tag still on it and a blanket quilt set that appeared brand new and not the pillow. We called back they said they didnt have it and a manager will contact me monday to make it right. its been 2 weeks. Im not happy despite putting up with their renovations that I do have pictures of and the fact they put a time limit on the lost and found even though I said wait its mine and we sent someone within 2 hours of that call to pick it up. Im sure its thrown away by now. Not recommended you stay here at all
Santiago at the front desk was awesome! So friendly and attentive to his guests requirements. Location was off highway and shared a Crab Seafood restaurant (very good) parking lot area. Pool area was okay but not heated. Parking lot could be cleaned better but was safe. Mall was near. Room was smaller and had 2 double beds. It did the trick for our stay. Continental breakfast offered very basics and liked that things were individually wrapped. The only real downfall was we were on the ground floor and we parked outside our room. You could hear most car locking beeps and vehicles arriving, leaving and talking at all hours. Request a higher floor if you are sensitive to noise (there is an outside elevator).
It's hard to call it a hotel as the rooms face the outside.. The room was badly in need of repair. The door did not fit the door frame. The towel rack in the bathroom was broken. The included breakfast was almost non-existent. We went elsewhere for breakfast. The location was at the intersection of two freeways, while centrally located, made it very difficult to get in and out of.
It wasnt the best , the first room they gave me was TRASHED. The smell of cologne was so strong I thought someone was still there. There was food, drug paraphernalia, dirty clothes, beds turned sideways and more. The front desk really didn't seem to care and just gave me a new room. On another day that I had a reservation for the front desk GM calls me at 10:30am and says they were over booked because of renovations and that I would have to leave. CHECK out was at 11am half hour Away. I said there was no way I would be able to leave after trying to talk with her, the GM. Finally I said check inn everywhere is 3pm and I'm not going to sit in my car for 5 hours in the Florida heat. How much is it to stay til then. They charged me $55 til 2:30 pm,on top of what I had already paid for he reservation. My question was also how are you making me leave because your over booked due to renovations, and I've been here for 5+ days already, but the parking lot was empty and the maids would have clean my room for the next guests, right? The photos are a couple from the first room the tried giving me. The Wyndham hotels, 2 terrible GMs I've encountered Beware of the others in St Petersburg
The pictures says it all but I will lay it out. It was a low budget motel. Can't say hotel as you enter from the outside and not inside. Barely a continental breakfast. The beds were sunk in. The room was clean but the air conditioner was loud and squeaky. The run all the time and water accumulates on the path to the rooms. Alot of rooms are being uses for storage as you can see in the picture. The people were nice and helpful. I only saw 1 roach and it was at night when I went to the bathroom. I was on the 3rd floor for that reason. If you are on a super low budget like 60 bucks or less I would stay here but if not there are other places with nicer amenities. Also there is only 1 ice machine and it is in the main building on the 2nd floor. If you want ice from the other buildings you have to go to main building.
Very old hotel. Room smelled really bad. AC was loud and not maintained. I was there for 3 nights. No one ever came to clean the room. I had to go to the lobby to get fresh towels.
Terrible experience – total scam with the room I booked I arrived with my family at 10:00 PM after booking and paying for a suite for 4 people through Hotels.com. The reservation clearly stated it included a king bed in a private room and a sofa bed in the living area. When I got to the hotel, they gave me the room key. We went up to the room and were shocked to find there was no sofa bed — just two chairs in the living room area. I went back to the front desk to complain, and they gave me a new key. The second room they gave us was a tiny room with two full beds side by side, completely different from what we paid for. I went down again to ask what was going on, and they told me there were no suites available. I requested a cancellation and returned the keys, but they still charged me for the night. I felt completely scammed. To make things worse, Hotels.com refused to take responsibility. They only supported the hotel, did not stop the charge for a room they didn’t even have available, and ignored the fact that I had to book and pay for another hotel that very same night. I will be uploading photos of: The so-called “living room” with just two chairs The tiny room with two small beds Both key cards we received Awful service from both the hotel and Hotels.com. I will never book with them again.
