La Quinta Inn By Wyndham Tampa Bay Pinellas Park Clearwater consistently receives negative reviews citing serious cleanliness issues, including cockroach sightings, mold, and filth. Guests have reported issues with bed bugs, broken amenities, and a lack of responsiveness from staff. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which, while appreciated by some, contribute to noise and temporary inconveniences. Value is questionable given the frequent complaints.
I came here with my family for my birthday to go to the beach, and as soon as i got my room it smelled like cigarettes smoke, the air conditioning wasn't working, and hair still on the shower walls!!! So i changed rooms and the tv didn't work but everything was fine until at night, me and my family went to go sleep and we saw a COCKROACH ON THE SIDE OF THE BED!!!! AND IT WAS HUMONGOUS!!!!! We pulled the bed back to try and kill it and the walls were filthy!!!! i didnt want to do this review but i had to.
I had such lovely service from the front desk here even though they are in the midst of remodel. They were so nice to me. The room was clean and bright. They have recently remodeled so I really liked the set up gorgeous subdued lighting that has been added, which is just so much easier on the eyes. I was very pleased with my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel. I’m showing the lighting that’s behind the beds against the wall. They created like a headboard wall and there’s a little tiny switch in the middle of the wall and when you flip it on it brings on these LED lights that are behind it creating enough light for the whole room without being being blasted in your face.
Do not stay here. I paid extra for an upgraded room, only to wake up covered in bedbug bites. At first, I didn’t realize what was happening, but when I woke up and saw something crawling on the bed, I pulled back the sheets and found bedbugs all around the head of the bed. I immediately reported it to the front desk and asked for a refund, but I was given the runaround instead. Even after showing them evidence, no one ever came to inspect the room. I spoke with maintenance, and even he admitted I had a valid case. I was told someone would contact me within 72 hours, but it’s now been over a month and I still haven’t heard anything. What makes this even more disappointing is that I’m a regular customer, yet management refused to acknowledge the issue or take responsibility. Bedbugs are not something to take lightly — bringing even one home can turn into a nightmare. I ended up buying multiple treatments for my house just to be safe. For the prices they charge, there is absolutely no excuse for rooms to have a bedbug infestation this severe. Save your money and stay somewhere else.
I really want to rate this hotel higher, it’s clearly under some renovations and it’s not bad at all. My only issues was the AC unit having a loud squeak to them and the road being extremely loud at night. If you are a light sleeper, you will hear very loud cars and police sirens all night. The positives I would say is that the rooms are actually very nice! Very comfortable and accessible. Parking was very easy. Customer service was great. I would rate higher, but there is a couple of things they need to work on. Great stay for the weekend at an affordable rate.
I would not recommend this hotel. My family and I have stayed here for six nights, and during that time the staff hasn't cleaned our room even once: the beds have never been made, and the towels have never been changed – nothing at all. After just a few days, pink mold began to appear in the shower, which clearly shows how poor the cleanliness is. Furthermore, breakfast consists of only a small bag of packaged food; honestly, I would not recommend it at all. We even asked at the front desk one day to please have our room cleaned, but no one came.
It was gross and they put my family in an unfinished room. Also the staff i talked to over the phone said they would have a manager call me back when shes in and then just hung up. I can recommend other cheap hotels other than this one.
The rooms were nice. But, the outside hallway was dirty. My rug in front of my room was torn. The elevator was from the 80's and run down. The lobby was nice. I missed the breakfast, so I can't inform you about that.
I stayed there and it was awful they put me on the 3rd floor nothing worked there was broken glass and missing furniture. The tvs screen would not turn on and only the sound would. They then moved me down a floor after I said hey the appliances do not work. Not as bad but just imagine cheap Florida landlord fixes and thats what youd get. We had to unplug some appliances to charge our phones and other things and one of them was a lamp so the room stayed dark unless we turned on the bathroom light on the otherwise of the room. I said its fine we'll work with. This is when it really became a problem when we left we left a pillow that someone in our family can't sleep with out. We were already halfway thorough Florida when we noticed we called and asked the guy said yes they have it and i was like great he told me I have 24 hours before they would throw it away. I said dont do that I have a friend ready to pick up. I sent my friend she said the guy handed her a bag with our room number and sent to us. When we got it it was brand new walmart women clothes with the tag still on it and a blanket quilt set that appeared brand new and not the pillow. We called back they said they didnt have it and a manager will contact me monday to make it right. its been 2 weeks. Im not happy despite putting up with their renovations that I do have pictures of and the fact they put a time limit on the lost and found even though I said wait its mine and we sent someone within 2 hours of that call to pick it up. Im sure its thrown away by now. Not recommended you stay here at all
Santiago at the front desk was awesome! So friendly and attentive to his guests requirements. Location was off highway and shared a Crab Seafood restaurant (very good) parking lot area. Pool area was okay but not heated. Parking lot could be cleaned better but was safe. Mall was near. Room was smaller and had 2 double beds. It did the trick for our stay. Continental breakfast offered very basics and liked that things were individually wrapped. The only real downfall was we were on the ground floor and we parked outside our room. You could hear most car locking beeps and vehicles arriving, leaving and talking at all hours. Request a higher floor if you are sensitive to noise (there is an outside elevator).
It's hard to call it a hotel as the rooms face the outside.. The room was badly in need of repair. The door did not fit the door frame. The towel rack in the bathroom was broken. The included breakfast was almost non-existent. We went elsewhere for breakfast. The location was at the intersection of two freeways, while centrally located, made it very difficult to get in and out of.
