Island Inn Beach Resort receives mixed reviews, highlighting a prime beachfront location and friendly staff, but also significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and inconsistent guest experiences. Recent reviews indicate ongoing renovations and operational challenges, impacting overall satisfaction.
I stayed here for a work trip a month or so after Hurricane Milton. The hotel appeared to be going through a bit of a renovation which is always good to see. The room was clean and fairly spacious. My only negative comment would be that there could be more room for hanging and folded clothing as there was not really much closet space nor drawers/dresser. The room did have a kitchenette which is nice for folks having a week-long vacation stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I did have to call down for an extra blanket as it was rather chilly at the time i visited. Overall great experience, great staff, clean room and centrally located to shopping, restaurants and the places I needed to go for work. I am moving to the area soon and would highly recommend any guests/family I have to stay there if they are looking for an oceanfront hotel with reasonable rates.
Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing. The room was clearly not cleaned or properly prepared: we found cobwebs, dirty dishes, and only two large towels were provided for four people. There was also only one almost completely used roll of toilet paper when we arrived, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Additionally, the tap water was heavily chlorinated, which caused irritation to my young daughter’s eczema-prone skin. I could provide photos to show how her skin was affected if needed. We reported the issues, and although the property offered us another room for the next day, it did not include parking. This would have meant additional costs for us, so it was not a helpful or realistic solution. Beyond the cleanliness problems, the entire accommodation feels very old and run-down. The building and the rooms are outdated and would require a major renovation to meet basic standards. The only positive aspects were the great location and the beautiful panoramic views. Overall, the condition, cleanliness, and service level were far below expectations, and we would not stay here again.
Poor overall experience. Will not be returning. If you want a cheap hotel on the beach this is your place, but it ends there. Cons: 1. No internet/TV (no big deal ill just hang at the beach). 2. No hot water (luke warm at best). The pool water was warmer had to be at least 90. 3. Mattress was extremely hard. 4. Ended up parking in the city lot by accident at night that’s approximately 10’ from the building. I received a ticket from the city even though my hotel tag was visible. I guess this is mostly my fault, but the hotel should have clarified the parking when checking in. 5. On checkout brought up the issues and the employee at the desk said she told us where to park. This did not happen, she just said to make sure to put the pass in the windshield or the hotel would give a warning. Nothing about the city lot touching the hotel. Also said I should have mentioned the hot water situation. Not sure what they were going to do. Install a new one that night lol. Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Room was clean. 3. On the Beach/Beach was nice
The rooms are horrible! 1. The bed came to my navel -try climbing on top of that! 2. Everything in the cabinets were up high-couldn’t reach the glasses on the 2nd shelf -they were pushed to the back. I used the plastic ones w the ice container 3. The microwave was HUGE but it wouldn’t open all the way -the ref was in the way 4. There were no instructions how to get clean towels 5. The tv was mounted on the wall to the side of the sofa -how do you watch it? 6. The table was a high desk top w 2 high stools -this place sleeps 4 where do the other 2 eat? 7.way too many cabinets/stands all around the room?? 8. No light in the kitchen area 9. The 2 burners on the stove were broke -they both tilted bad to one side 10. The mirror was the small bathroom mirror and then one on the wall behind the sofa. 11. Very noisy neighbors -could hear the doors opening and closing, them talking. 12. The view from the balcony was nice 13 Sand burrs on the beach 14. Only one elevator was working and the sign that it was going to be taken out of commission the beginning of September, did not go up until Nov! 15. The beach and the staff were the only 2 good things about this place. Q
Best value for the money. Rooms are clean and adequate for sleeping and love making. Stay was made more pleasant due to friendly and supportive staff. Frozen drinks come with wafers, which are wonderful little snack. Hot tip, the answer is always yes to a floater. Smoking section had lively and interesting people to watch and enjoy from afar. Beach was in close proximity, it was amazing to wake up to every moring. Many things to do around the property.
I would give this facility five stars I'm just not liking the 10:00 check out I've been coming here at least six times yearly for the past 2 and 1/2 3 years because it has nice views clean rooms, parking and so forth!! My last visit I checked in 6:30 p.m and had to check out at 10am . I understand they were busy but still all other hotel check out is at 11:00 with customer appreciation they'll let you check out sometimes at 12:00 but it's okay I still will be a visitor because of all the other accommodations!!!
Location: The reason I booked here is because it is right on the beach. We get splendid view of the ocean from the balcony. We can hear the ocean waves from room. We had very good time here. We can walk to the beach anytime or just sit in the balcony and relax. I was hoping to see the sunset from the balcony but due to cloudy weather, we were not fortunate. On the beach, you can rent 'turtles' as well right in front of the building. Even on the other side of the building, the view is very good. Room Details: We stayed in an apartment in Island Inn maintained by the owner and not by the management. The room was very well maintained, clean and had all the facilities. i) swimming pool with a bar ii) tap water to wash hands and feet after coming from beach. iii) shaded parking Overall we had great time staying here. I would like to go back just because of the beach view from the balcony.
Been going here for years. Never disappointed. Room was clean with outstanding view of the Gulf. Beach is big enough to spread out. Pool was really nice to have. Water temps were perfect. Of course, the bar was convenient for afternoon cocktails! Can't wait to go back.
We have been in this property 3 times and we have never being disappointed. We love the location, gulf view and the room was very clean. Have to mention in our stay June 27-29, 2025 I booked through the hotel and Kim was very nice and got us the room we wanted for our anniversary. During our days there Wendy (I believe got her name right) was very attentive and sweet to make our stay beautiful.? Thank you!??
This place is horrible. I asked on 2 separate occasions if fishing off the beach would be allowed. Both times I was assured it wouldn't be an issue. Upon casting, another beach goer presumably not with the hotel, in his cube tent had an issue and proceeded to call the cops which did nothing for him yet my wife is now embarrassed on our honeymoon. Will not be back.
