Island House Resort offers a warm, family-oriented experience with a strong emphasis on personalized service and a "home away from home" atmosphere. While the property retains a vintage charm, it’s consistently maintained, clean, and provides convenient access to the beach and local amenities. It’s a beloved spot for repeat guests who appreciate genuine hospitality and a relaxed vibe.
I am fortunate to have been introduced to Island House through my wife and her family. It truly is a special place. The service is amazing, the amenities are perfect, warm pool, laundry facilities, game room and of course the white silky sand of Crescent Beach!
We only stayed one night but would absolutely come back next time! The ladies in the office are so sweet and helped us with anything we needed! The room was clean and beds were comfy! The gulf is walking distance. The area was hit with hurricane Helene and we could tell the people were so humbled! Will definitely be back..
?????????? This is not my first time staying at The Island House, and I truly hope it won’t be my last. From the moment we arrive, it feels less like a place to stay and more like coming home. The people who run this place are simply incredible. I honestly can’t say enough good things about them. Every time we come to the beach, they welcome us like family. They are genuinely kind, thoughtful, and caring — it feels like spending the week surrounded by friends. The property is always spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for with so much pride and love. What makes this place extra special is the personal connection. Four years ago, my daughter ate all the chocolate — and the fact that they still remember us and treat us like family says everything you need to know about the people here. That kind of hospitality is rare. My heart goes out to them after being hit so hard by the hurricane, but I’m incredibly grateful they’re still here and continuing to do what they do best. Big resorts can keep their money — family-owned businesses like this offer something far more valuable: warmth, authenticity, and unforgettable memories at a price that makes it even sweeter. The Island House will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we feel so blessed to be able to return. If you’re looking for a place that feels welcoming, clean, and filled with genuine hospitality, this is it. ? Edited ?? I do want to add this, because I’ve seen some of the reviews — and I think perspective matters. If you’re looking for a high-priced, ultra-modern hotel with luxury branding, wall-mounted shampoo bottles, and a completely updated 2025–2026 aesthetic, this probably isn’t the place for you. And that’s okay. But if you’re looking for something far more meaningful — a family-friendly, come-home feeling, a place where you’re known, remembered, and genuinely cared for — this is exactly that place. Some parts are a bit outdated, but that’s part of the charm. It feels like being at the beach the way it used to feel: simple, comfortable, and full of heart. I personally appreciate not having those shared, wall-mounted toiletries that everyone touches. What matters to me is that everything is clean, well cared for, and thoughtfully maintained — and it always is. This isn’t about flashy upgrades; it’s about hospitality, kindness, and creating a space where families can relax and make memories. This place feels like coming home. It’s warm, welcoming, and real — and that’s something you can’t put a price tag on. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll love it just as much as we do. ?
What a wonderful stay, Ms. Di at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Who goes to the beach in December, this lady right here! I booked my girlfriend and I an anniversary trip here and our stay was absolutely perfect. This hotel is located in the best location directly across from the beach, room was spotless and spacious! We will definitely be staying here again and referring friends/family members to stay here in the future!!!!
This place is Amazing! It's similar to being on a tropical island. Small little animal statues everywhere. A nice place to grill, very comfortable beds....and the pool is heated. The rooms are all clean and designed very well. When you smell the towels they don't have that dingy smell like some hotels....they are fresh like new. The staff is very friendly and treats you like family.
This place was near perfect! Right across the street from the beach. Just a short walk and we were lounging on the beach. The beach was somewhat busy but it was still quiet. The rooms were nice and newly renovated due to the hurricane. Housekeeping made the beds and brought us fresh towels daily. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had just about anything you would need for the beach. So, if you are flying in and need a beach chair or something, they probably have it. The pool and surroundings were icing on the cake!
Location is great, across the street from the beach. Greta amenities! Beach chairs to use and umbrellas. Pool is fantastic, small but there aren't many people when I went (end of summer). Rooms are spacious feels like a whole living room with a kitchen. Receptionist gave me great recommendation for a restraunt for a great sunset view across the street at the Double Tree. Would stay here again.
We've finally found our go-to getaway spot, and it's absolute perfection! The owners are warm, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. The rooms are beautifully designed, comfortable, and perfectly appointed for relaxation. Whether you're looking for a romantic escape or a family vacation, this hotel has it all. The pool is a highlight, and being just across the street from the beach is the icing on the cake. We've felt right at home here. If you're looking for a slice of heaven for your next getaway, look no further. We'll be back!
Beautiful, privately owned paradise ! The pool is fantastic and literally only steps across the street to the Gulf.I can't say enough great things about it so I will keep it short. Location, cleanliness, staff and owner are the absolute best. We never stay anywhere else when visiting the area. We love our Island House family. Thank you Kelli, Diane, Brenda, Kat, Azarel and the rest of the staff. ?
Nice quaint hotel. The outside was a little dated but I think it added to the character and charm of the experience. The rooms are clean and updated. Lots of amenities. We had a few minor problems during our stay but nothing that the staff couldn't handle happily. The office staff was always pleasant and professional. GREAT STAFF! I would stay here again. While it's not directly on the beach, it is easily accessible and there is a crossing to the beach directly in front of the hotel. Plenty of parking and plenty of amenities made this a good stay and a good place for a family vacation. KUDOS to the pool / maintenance guy. The pool water was always clean and dare I say almost immaculate. I saw the pool guy out at the pool early EVERY morning cleaning it thoroughly. The pool is truly the centerpiece of this resort hotel experience!
