The Holiday Inn Express St. Petersburg North receives mixed reviews, with consistent praise for its friendly staff, particularly Vicky and Amanda, and delicious breakfast. However, guests have reported issues including room temperature control, noise from neighboring rooms, cleanliness concerns (roaches and dirty floors), and occasional service problems like malfunctioning heaters and a lack of supplies. Recent reviews suggest these problems are ongoing and are impacting the overall guest experience.
First night room had to be moved. 2nd room was comfortable and clean, but walls are paper thin. I could hear the person next to me snoring all night, and the next night and day, the people above me let their kids run back and forth through the room. 11pm kid/kids seemed to be running laps in the room!!! Housekeeper entered my room 2 days in a row without knocking first and scared the crap out of me!!! Despite the hiccups, hotel itself is clean, and breakfast is good. I would return because it's not the hotel's fault that people don't control their kids and consider other people. I'd just request a room on a higher level.
Update - I had to knock a point off of the score here due to none of the heaters work. 3 rooms I tried did not have heat and the one room that maintenance said they fixed was still broken. The heater for the floor does not work either Probably not going to matter here most of the time since it's Florida but it matters when it's 30 degrees outside like it is now This is a very nice and cozy place that has a great breakfast, comfy beds and 24 hour coffee. Elsa who was working the breakfast was wonderful and keeps it just right. This hotel is also next door to a Cracker Barrel which is definitely nice. Has a pool, laundry, exercise room and everything you would expect
Stayed here for a weekend and had a great experience. The room and hotel amenities are as expected for any Holiday Inn Express that we've stay in, but the staff and service far exceeded other experiences. Vicky at the front desk was friendly, very accommodating, and takes a genuine interest in her guests. We would absolutely stay here again.
Not a good experience especially on a cold night. The heater didn't work (needed a new coil per maintenance guy(he did bring additional blanket) These desk clerks not were at all friendly nor accommodating, don't think they've heard of thank you & you're welcome. Different days depending on who's at the desk seems to determine the amount of drinks per room for "complimentary" drinks, room phone didn't work. Definitely won't be staying here again while trying to decide whether or not to continue using any holiday Inns.
First of all the hotel rooms and breakfast is an A++ second the staff is amazing! The new general manager, Zeek is the best manager I have seen and I stay in hotels monthly for work. He is doing a great job and actually cares. He goes and meets guests during breakfast asks to take their trash and really wants to know how their stay is. Very nice young man. Other staff like Amanda and Vicky are very kind and great with their service
We stayed just one night, passing through but we were impressed. Our room was modern and clean. The included breakfast had so much to choose from and everything was delicious. Very close to downtown St. Petersburg and skyway bridge. Will definitely stay here again.
My family and I had to stay the night because of a domestic violence situation. Once we booked the room we realized that there was a no pet policy, I asked Vicki at the front desk if I could have a pillow and a blanket for my brother to sleep in the van with his dog. Vicki very kindly allowed us to bring his dog in the room for the night. Vicki went over and beyond for my family and I will forever be so thankful. Sometimes you realize there are still good people in this world even in the darkest days.
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in St. Petersburg while celebrating my own wedding, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the incredible service we received. From the moment we walked in, Vicky at the front desk treated me and my guests like royalty. She greeted us with genuine warmth, went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect, and made us feel completely at home. Vicky’s attentiveness and kindness truly made our experience unforgettable — by the end of our stay, it felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend. The hotel itself was fantastic, and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at any hotel — fresh, flavorful, and with a wonderful mix of savory and sweet options. The coffee was delicious, and the cozy atmosphere made each morning feel special. Thank you, Vicky, for being such an important part of making our wedding weekend so memorable. You are a true gem, and Holiday Inn is lucky to have you!
I travel often. One of the higher end hotels from IHG. Was very impressed. Clean very clean rooms, great location to the interstate and Tampa international airport. Amanda at the front desk is just wonderful. What a great personality, friendly, and very helpful. I couldn't ask for a better greeting when I walked into the hotel. As a diamond elite member I prefer a friendly staff upon arrival and a hotel that is clean and fresh. This was spot on. Kudos to Amanda for her professional domenor. I will be back for sure.
First off, I could write 30 reviews for this hotel because we stay there so often. This is a great hotel with an amazing staff. From Amanda and the rest of staff at front desk to Elsa in the kitchen making breakfast, they are all amazing. Management should recognize they have a great thing going and compensate the staff accordingly. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The laundry does a great job making the towels and sheets clean and white even during crazy times. The food is amazing and always hot and ready. Never a bad meal while staying here. Thanks Elsa. We have made some amazing memories at this hotel and the staff is a huge part of it. Keep up the great work.
