The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Harbourside offers spacious rooms and a convenient location near the beach, water park, and restaurants. While guests appreciate the comfortable accommodations and friendly staff, some have raised concerns regarding dated furnishings, inconsistent service, and issues with amenities like hot water and room cleanliness.
We enjoyed our stay at The Holiday Inn Harborside so much we have decided to make it a yearly event. The room we had was huge & there was plenty of space for our family so we weren't right on top of each other like most hotel rooms. We have the loft king suite & loved it but will definitely be adding the adjoining room with 2 queen beds next time for even more space & extra beds for more sleeping accommodations. Erica checked us in & she was amazing! So friendly & full of great information to make our stay the best it could be. The rooms are a bit dated & not the fanciest but we are staying there with our kids so I kind of prefer not having to stress about them ruining everything. The space they offer definitely makes up for it in my book. I loved how everything was in walking distance. Restaurants, the beach, the water park & the pool & jacuzzi area was never over crowded & a nice chill area. We can't wait to return! The photos were the view from our balcony ?
This is a really nice hotel. Conveniently located near the beach (2 minute walk), the trolley to Clearwater Beach (2 minute walk), a water park and tons of restaurants. The staff is friendly (Russ is amazing) and it was the perfect place for us to be for our vacation to Florida. Would absolutely stay here again.
5 min away from the beach great! Had lunch at jimmys in the hotel today, ordered a drink 35 min later we get it . Wait person drab. No personality, never ask to see if out burnt fish sandwich was ok. Probably won’t eat there AGAIN
The rooms can look a bit dated. We were given a 1 bedroom King suite facing the water which made up for the older furnishings. At check in I was not recognized or given my Platinum Elite status benefits but when I went back later in the evening the person did a great job of acknowledging the mistake and making it right. Its nice to have a restaurant on site, and there are other great options a short walk away from this hotel.
The Holiday Inn on Indian Rocks Beach is truly not your typical Holiday Inn. The property is noticeably higher in quality, and the level of customer service is exceptional. As professional photographers, we had the pleasure of photographing a wedding here in January 2026, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Our primary contact was a wonderful woman named Barney, whose support made a world of difference. She was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in ensuring the day went smoothly. Due to unpredictable weather, the wedding required numerous last-minute changes. Throughout it all, Barney calmly guided us, the couple, and the vendors with confidence and care. Weddings can be extremely stressful—especially when weather complications arise—but Barney’s kindness, warmth, and years of experience truly shined. Her ability to adapt, reorganize, and implement new plans on the fly was reassuring. Thanks to her professionalism and leadership, the couple was able to enjoy their day despite the challenges. We highly recommend this venue, especially for weddings, and commend Barney for her outstanding service.
My friend and I got two adjoining rooms for my daughter's birthday. I got the two queen suite with the marina view and she got a two queen bed room. Everyone loved it! We kept the door open and it was like having a huge apartment with a full kitchen! The rooms and also facility were clean and they had it stocked with everything we needed as far as plates, silverware, cooking stuff, etc. We all loved everything about the hotel even though the water park was closed. They still loved swimming in the heated pool and the hot tub, the mini golf, and the restaurant with live music! We plan on going back when it warms up to go to the water park and also next time we are bringing a boat, as you can park it right behind the hotel (marina view). One other thing - all the employees were very nice! It sucks that other people didn't have a great time (in other reviews) but we all thought it was really great!
I booked my room for 4 nights. I checked in on 12/14. I was surprised that in addition to my room and taxes, I was charged a $40 a day resort fee. I have no idea what that was for. I was given two passes to the water park across the street and a discount card for pizza. I don’t swim so I certainly didn’t think it was worth $40 a day additional. I went into my room. It was clean, but it was…a room. Keurig with 3 pods of coffee (no decaf) and two packs of sweetener/creamer, and 1 tea. No rhyme or reason for this grouping. As I was visiting family, it was mainly a place to sleep. I am an early riser, but I need cream for my coffee. The restaurant doesn’t open until 7 am. I’m up at 5. I had to go to the office and was provided 4 additional sweetener/creamer packs most of which are wasted so I can have coffee. I wait. At 7:30 I go for breakfast. The service is pleasant and the coffee is plentiful. At 9:30 I decided to take a shower. Surprise! There’s no hot water. It’s tepid. I adjusted the water from barely on the hot side to only hot to have tepid water. Having below shoulder length hair, I decided I could go one more day with dirty hair and took a very quick shower. Not my favorite thing. Lucky for me, I was offered the chance to stay with family and checked out after one night. Would I stay there again? Perhaps if I had children with me and the resort fee is explained to me. What it entails. Is it simply for the pleasure of being where you can see boats docked next to the hotel or having the pleasure of your first floor room hearing them refurbish the bar early in the day? Or, finally, being able to see people play mini golf outside your window? Heck if I know. All the staff was nice and courteous even the environmental staff. It’s located near everything.
Great unique tropical feeling hotel, with nice views (my room) of the marina. Not a cookie-cutter hotel, while feeling a bit old has lots of charm and feels very much like Florida to me. HUGE room, with lots of amenities. Loved the Christmas decorations around the property. Restaurant was great, with exceptional service. A/C worked really good, clean room as well. Price paid was about average.
I have to agree with the other bad reviews. The room I was shown had a washer / dryer combo. We were told we could use the swimming pool at Splash Harbor after hours. This I confirmed with Splash Harbour is correct, but the Holiday Inn employees new nothing of it, nor how to get in. They said perhaps the people jumped the fence. You had to hold the toilet handle down for 20 seconds, the sheets were crunchy, pillows were cheap, the kitchen cabinets were falling off, the dishwasher wasn't screwed down, there were hardly any dishes at all, the carpet was really old and stained, and as others have said the sliding doors to the patio barely open. Our children complained the couch bed and roll away mattresses hurt, (they've used many others and never complained). The main front door barely latches locked making you feel unsafe. The mini golf cost an extra $7 per person. We had to wait an hour to eat breakfast, and there were empty tables (no wait just slow service). The service was so bad we gave away our free breakfast cards for the rest of our stay and paid to eat somewhere else. As others have said, very kin to a Motel 6. Edit to reply to manager: Because of all the bad reviews and I live local, staycation, I visited the hotel to check my room. I saw the washer / dryer combo myself in the room you showcased on my visit. The bait and switch happened on the first day upon arrival with my family and too late to cancel. The manager said unfortunately a hotel staff family member reserved the room I showed you so we had to move you to a different room. It's just as nice though... it wasn't. At all.
I am writing this review to warn every future customer to please stay far far far away from Holiday Inn Harborside. I booked a room back on October 9th of 2025 for 5 days mind you I was flying from St Louis MO, with my 77 year old mother my fiance and our two children and my mother in law. I was promised an ocean view with a sunset view I even paid an additional $35 a night to assure I would get the room I desired. After flying 1100 miles with my family we arrived at the Hotel just to be completely disrespected. I couldn't believe it. The room they gave us smelt like mildew and over looked a horrible parking lot with two dumpsters. I immediately went to the front office and said this was not what I was promised I even paid an additional $35 a night to assure that I wouldn't get an ocean view with a sunset. They asked who I book the rooms through I told them I booked directly through them. They told me I booked through a third party I explained to them that was the phone number that I got off of their site. Even though they have clear proof knowing that I specifically ask for an ocean view etc... I told them to go back on the recording line to see exactly what was discussed. They refused to do anything. I immediately took my family and left I would not stay there another minute. After flying 2 hours and getting out of the airport I did not want to put my family through any more stress. I immediately went to Clearwater Beach where I stayed at the residence Inn Marriott I explained to them what had just had happened to my family and I and they were shocked not only did they give me 25% off our stay they also gave me vouchers on Clearwater Beach at Frenchys restaurants. I will never stay at another Holiday Inn for as long as I live. I have never been so disrespected. I truly hope this Review finds everyone well. God Bless PS They refused to give me a refund. So I lost $1392.00. Please do not make them say mistake I did. PSS Since it would not let me reply to the holiday in harborside reply. Please let me clarify to all future customers everything they stated was a lie. Please please please Don't waste your time or money
