BEST BEACH LOCATION! Rented studio #701 ! Newly remodeled Decorated so beachy! Everything we needed! We went for Valentines weekend and they left us a gift of lotions and mists. Beach chairs towels Had it all! Plus a heated pool ! Right across the street from the beach and no traffic! Walking distance to many restaurants bars convenient stores ice cream donut shop and waffle house for breakfast! Even left us a Valentines gift
When they tell you there is a ocean view two out of four Billings are not most rooms. Cannot see an ocean view. Stairs only, walls are very thin. You can hear people in different units. Either above you or underneath you. For most units, you have to walk to The pool a little ways. About two hundred or so yards walk to the ocean beach across the parking lot.
I have rented here several times. Both great and not so great units. All are independently owned condo units. No better beach location anywhere. Unfortunitly hurricane Helene destroyed the first floor. Real nice atmosphere around pool nice people mostly owners and repeat renters.
Checked in on a Friday evening. Room thermostat was set to 78 degrees and A/C unit ended up being broken but wasn’t repaired until Sunday. The Murphy bed was broken and wouldn’t pull down, so we had to go purchase an air mattress. Room was outdated and dirty, so was the kitchen and oven. When complaints were made to the booking site as well as the establishment no one wants to respond or reconcile. Room 108.
3rd floor, no elevator..ugh. There were lots of little kids in the pool from 9 am til 7pm 3 days in a row. They only have 1 pool for all their rooms. People save tables at 9 a.m., and you barely see them at the tables. Which they obviously need more of. No outdoor grill. By the room, I had to go around the block to use one. ? OH... The garbage trucks wake you up every morning, between 530 / 630 am...
Perfect location, and while we didn't really need service, check-in and out was a breeze. Each condo is different, ours was a bit updated but could have used curtains over the blinds in the bedrooms and tip.. try and not stay near the dumpsters as the trash pick came daily (except Sunday) at 6:30am!!
My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in #701. Our unit was a quick walk to beach, and for an affordable price. We were pleased that our room was spacious enough to be comfortable for 2 people, despite being a studio. We were a little warm, since the limit for the air conditioning is 72 degrees, but it wasn't a big deal. I was afraid we'd see some huge "palmetto" bugs AKA roaches due to the cheaper price tag of the place, so I was delighted when I didn't see a single bug anywhere for the entirety of our week-long stay. Our bed was soft and we enjoyed our full-sized kitchen. Very pleased with the value we got for our money! Comfy room, great location to the beach, and several restaurants and bars within walking distance so we didn't have to get in the car and drive somewhere every time we got hungry. If we come back to St. Pete, I would definitely choose Gulf Winds again!
I called the office before reserving our 15 day stay. We wanted to take our little Jack Russell, Ringo with us and since I was paying with a points program through one of the vendors we use when we purchase siding that we sell to customers, I wanted to confirm that they allowed pets. The lady I spoke with told me they were a pet friendly resort and I explained why I was calling first. 2 days later I contacted them to confirm our condo reservation and again asked about pets. However, the manager I spoke with this time informed me that they did not have any pet friendly rooms at this resort. She offered to refund the money but unfortunately, once I hit the except button, I agreed to no refunds through the point administrators. We left Ringo with family and proceeded to drive instead of fly since it was too late to change our travel plans. The room was a studio, which we knew ahead of time and it has not been updated in years. Each condo is owned by someone else so you get whatever they have or don't have in that particular unit. We stayed as positive as we could and made sure we enjoyed being at the beach with one another. My advice is to try to find out what type of updates your owner's are offering before you book your unit. Ask for pictures of it and try to find out as much as you can. I think you will have a better expectation if you can find out as much information as possible.
