Treasure Bay Resort & Marina receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, affordability, and clean rooms, particularly highlighting the rooftop bar and proximity to amenities. However, recurring concerns involve dated facilities, cleanliness issues, inconsistent service, and problems with room features like lighting and bathroom functionality. Recent reviews indicate an effort to improve service and amenities following recent hurricanes, but significant challenges remain.
This is an older hotel, much is like most of the real estate in the area. It would help if they made an additional investment in the rooms lighting. The bedroom & entry is limited to an overhead light in the entry & a single lamp in the sleeping space. It’s a bit dark. The bathroom is a bit small (nothing can easily be done about that). Larger people may find the bathroom right. The tub appears to be original. An update to a walk-in shower would do wonders. All that said, the location is excellent and the staff was very accommodating!
I live in the area and needed to have work done on my condo. I needed a place to stay for a few weeks and decided to try this placed based on reviews and price. The manager Danielle took care of me and made it a good experience. A very nice place for the money located walking distance to everything. These guys were great.
This hotel is definitely not a 3 star. It's a no star. Old and not clean. My son stayed there for 8 days. And not one day was the room cleaned. The only services that housekeeping provided was changing the towels and taking out the garage. He was advised he should have told them to clean the room. It was obvious the floors were dirty. I stayed one day. I was afraid to take a shower or sleep in the bed. Nasty. But the manager was very helpful and accommodating....overall I can never stay there again
I had great solo work getaway at this beach getaway. Located right across from gigantic park and beach I had clear views of the ocean even though it was across the street. The park being there meant no high motels There is a very small but cute coffee and donut place right next door plus a waffle shop. You can walk 4 blocks to Publix. Small kitchenette was good but only microwave. It allowed me to have my small dog and was quite affordable. Beach is gigantic and one day I drove 30 minutes south the ft de Soto county park. Huge beach. Highly recommend.
Sorry but not worth the price. We came in the winter months. First we were given an unclean room. So we go to the beach had a great time at the kiwi bar & restaurant. We left the bar early thinking that we can go back to the hotel to enjoy the pool but it was freezing. Also the room had a musty odor. Also, do not pay for a golf view it’s too far not with the extra cost. Yes clean room finally but not worth the price. We spoke to the man at the front desk and he tells us to enjoy the warm whirlpool instead. I will never return to this place. Thumbs down ??
Horrible experience including staff! Decided to stay there for my wife’s birthday since the pictures looked great. We walked down the hallway to our room that reaped of cigarette smoke. We walked out onto our balcony to check out the view and once back inside, tried to lock the slider but it did not work. The paint was peeing off the wall near and around the a/c. So I tried to use the phone to call the desk and voice our concern. The phone did not work. I walked down and met with the desk staff named Devin. Never have I felt so out of place. After informing her of our issues and asking to be moved to another room, she said “the best thing you can do is call booking.com and get your money back” I asked for a manager and she informed me there was not one available. Horrible customer service and a very poorly managed hotel. Stay elsewhere!! I would give a zero if it would allow.
I was not expecting what we got. I read the reviews and paid attention to the bad ones because of the cost. I was not expecting the room to be as clean as it was, no musty odor great harbor view and the staff was pleasant. Met a few great people at the rooftop bar and we all enjoyed the evening. The beach is across the street less than a 5 min walk and food everywhere.
Tons of drunk people and every time I opened the door my room filled with Marijuana smoke. Complained to front desk about the sound twice after 10 pm and nothing was done about the party above my 7 year old and I. Seemed like the air conditioner wasn't working right because when we woke up everything in our room was wet with condensation. Do not recommend if you have kids!
There needs to be truth in advertising! I paid an upcharge for a "gulf bay view." Upon arrival, my room overlooked four lanes of traffic and a five-story hotel across the street. "Gulf view" was non-existent. When I spoke with the front desk, and showed the clerk my receipt stating "gulf view," I was told I'd have to get the refund from the third party. Only because I continued to advocate (and others were in line behind me), did I get another room. This one faced the back of the hotel, which had a quaint canal view of a few small boats. Pretty and quiet. The room had been remodeled nicely, and everything was clean. The AC runs at 70 degrees F, which is quite cold for me. When I lowered the temperature, condensation formed throughout the room, causing water to pool on the floor and making slipping and falling a concern. The sliding doors to the nice patio are exceptionally heavy, which is good for security, but bad for anyone who isn't strong enough to wrestle them open. The hotel is dog-friendly (an extra $108), with a nice slip of lawn in the back. Only problem is that Treasure Island doesn't allow dogs on the beaches, so you have to stay to sidewalks. Landscaping quite nice. Location good as you can easily walk to three good restaurants--Britt's, Middle Grill, and Sloppy Joe's for dinner. Breakfast is next door with Waffle House or Dunkin Donut. (Only snacks in the lobby.) Parking at this hotel and walking a good distance across the street if you are fit is a great option to enjoy really pretty scenery. This area is prime for beach walks, and Treasure Island has done a magnificent job reinstating natural vegetation and repairing after Hurricane Milton.
Rooms had dirty stuffed chair, lamp shade had spilled drink all over it, rooftop bar was not open, help spoke no English, dirty elevator, no breakfast options like before with this owner. No receipt on departure from front desk. Location is great, hotel not so much!
