The Clearwater Beach Hotel receives mixed reviews, highlighting a prime location and reasonable prices, but is plagued by cleanliness concerns, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service. Recent feedback emphasizes issues with room conditions including roaches, stains, and malfunctioning amenities, alongside complaints about unfriendly staff and miscommunication regarding services.
Don’t let the photos deceive you! This place should not be called a hotel it is more like a motel. Rooms are extremely outdated, TV is small, internet horrible, and not a smart tv, limited channels, outlets are loose plug kept falling out! My mother uses CPAP and it kept turning off the air for her to breathe at night! When we first arrived the room smelled horrible!! Front desk notified and she came to room to see for herself wouldn’t take my word for it (as if I would lie about something like that) then sent her “guy” over who just came in with a spray bottle and sprayed like 3 bursts and that was it!! Horrible experience, I would never return to this place!
Well, this hotel is in a great location. It is not clean nor does it have friendly staff. Any issues that you might have will not be addressed by the hotel. I visited last week and was unable to watch anything on their messed up TVs or connect to their Wi-Fi. I would recommend this hotel do better at staffing.
I asked for a downstairs room in a quiet area with two beds. I was placed on the third floor right next to the pools and given a queen bed. There was zero Wi-Fi the entire time I was there. I was given random excuses every time I inquired about the Internet. That means I was unable to use my tablet or my laptop during my three day stay. Additionally, the TV only had channels occasionally, and when it did, it was distorted. I asked to be moved to another room and I was told they were completely full. This was a lie because each available room had their blinds open and beds made. You could see these rooms were unoccupied as you walked past them on the balcony of each level. Truly, the only good thing about this hotel was location.
Place is old and rundown but it is very clean with daily maid service and fresh towels. Queen bed was soft and pillows were as well. We enjoyed our stay here and everything is within walking distance. I would say this is a very good budget friendly place to stay in Clearwater Beach
Misleading rating/photos — poor cleanliness, uncomfortable bed, and housekeeping issues I stayed here for the last three nights and I travel a lot (10–12 trips a year). I feel obligated to warn other people because the high rating and photos are seriously misleading. Cleanliness was unacceptable. In the bathroom there were still soap rings/residue that clearly looked like it was from a previous guest. The shower curtain had small holes near the top (looked like moth holes), and the desk had old coffee stains on it — again, it did not feel like the room had been properly cleaned before I checked in. The bed was awful — genuinely felt like sleeping on a brick. Housekeeping/service was a struggle. After having to ask the first time, I asked again the second day and was told that when I checked in I “initialed” agreeing to no housekeeping until something like 3 days / 3 nights. If that’s their policy, fine — but it should be clearly disclosed upfront. Most people are tired during check-in and are just initialing where they’re told so they can get to their room. That should not be how a major change in service is communicated, especially at this price point. I paid about $600 for the stay and it wasn’t even close to worth it. Clearwater Beach itself is beautiful — I loved the restaurants, shops, and the people everywhere else — but I would absolutely stay somewhere else next time. There are too many better options nearby.
Boutique hotel that is very charming, friendly service, very clean and simple rooms with big screen TV and nice bathroom and room amenties. Reasonable price and wonderful catering staff. We appreciated the information in the front regarding local areas to visit during our stay at the beach. I couldn't ask for better, frankly and the price was right. We stayed at one of the most expensive areas but gut an excellent deal to stay two days. Don't dismiss this place; it's a find with nostalgia you will have fond memories of.
Rudest lady I’ve ever met. Don’t go through a hard time and lose your license or she’ll cost you $170 and kick you out on your behind even if you have a completely legal digital ID. I’ve never met anyone more snobby in my life.
Traveling for work only stayed one night. Room was very clean. The girl at the front desk was pleasant, even if she did talk a little too fast. Great location. Will definitely consider for a family vacation.
The curtain doesn’t cover enough of the shower area, so water splashes out onto the wood floor. It makes the bathroom messy and could damage the floor over time. Good location and free parking ? Room is okay ? Thank you Clearwater Beach Hotel's team.
My work requires hotel letterhead with my name on it aka a receipt probably to prove I actaully showed up. I understand that I reserved & paid through a third party like many sales professionals but there is no reason the staff cannot print a receipt saying I owe $0. Lost a customer due to not making a slight change to your work flow.
