The Tahitian Beach Resort offers a convenient location and access to Treasure Island Beach, with recent renovations improving the guest experience. While praised for its friendly staff and updated rooms, some guests have noted issues with room size, uncomfortable beds and pillows, pool cleanliness, and crowded parking.
Stayed on the canal (bay side) that was recently renovated. Very nice, loved the hammocks, fire pits and pool area. Best part was dealing with Olivia at Reception, she was fun, awesome personality and ready to help with any issues! We will definitely be back. Great place for a family trip!
First keep in mind these places in this area are older and appreciated for originality. The room was awesome. I like the lighting the apartment feel very well maintained. The price I think was fair. The service was fantastic very pleasant. They also had great old beach amenities. Areas of improvement they charged $25 for 1 hour later checkin. I think that's a little much. The beds were ok but could be much improved for comfort. Pillows were terrible, sorry to say. Too puffy and not soft at all. The towels looked like the had been washed 2.5 million times and were dryer than the Sahara. These small corrections to detail could definitely demand more money and better customer experience. All in all great experience.
I’ll give this place 4 stars because of the location and access to the beach - HOWEVER - make sure when booking your room, if you want to be on the beach side you mention that because half of the hotel is across the street (4 lanes w/o a crosswalk nearby). The rooms have been updated, but not anything fancy. If you’re looking for a place to shower and sleep and enjoy treasure island beach, then this is your place. Pool wasn’t really clean, but I can imagine it’s hard to keep a beach side pool clean (hair, oil from suntan lotion, debris).
Our experience at The Tahitian was a good one. The hotel was great. We were moved to a larger room (at our expense) after we showed up and realized the room we booked was way too small for our family. We were moved within 20 min of asking them which was so nice. The staff was so helpful and nice, even with our door room lock malfunctioning and having to wait in the heat of the day for them to fix (not ideal when our kids were hot and wanted to get into the A/C, but they went as quick as possible to fix it). Our room was nice, clean and spacious once we moved and we enjoyed a kitchen in our room. The pillows on the beds were a bit much and not super comfy, so I didn’t sleep the best. The pool furniture was nice quality but not the most comfortable. We were unfortunately there during another family’s reunion and they literally had taken over, had little care for anyone else vacationing, and it was a bit annoying (but out of the resort’s control). The guest amenity games were nice and great for our kids. It was in a great location close to stores and Ricky Ts which is a delicious restaurant we enjoyed. Having a bar on site was also very nice and convenient. The walk to the beach was a bit of a long haul, but we loved the boardwalk and being poolside. Parking was very crowded and one time we had to park across the busy street with our two small kids, but that level of crowdedness only happened once during our stay. The Friday night movie by the pool was a very nice surprise! Overall, I’m giving this 4 stars because of the couple things I mentioned.
The staff were wonderful. The snack bar had great food with reasonable prices. The outdoor spaces are so relaxing and inviting. Lots of different games available to play. The pools were heated which was nice when the ocean was a little too chilly for my taste. Location is great very convenient. Parking was a little confusing but once we figured it out was no problem. Rooms were a little on the small side but very cute.
LOVED the location! Staff was great and there was always someone if you needed anything. Weather was cool during our stay, low 70s, so heated pool was great! One of the best hotel beds I have ever slept on. However, gave our room 4 stars as it lacks a mirror outside of the small bathroom mirror and with more then one female staying in the room, it made getting ready to head out to dinner etc a little more challenging.
First time here, picked from an array of choices on the beach. Great location, fabulous sunsets right from our balcony. A varied choice of amenities for kids (we didn’t have ours with us). The bathroom could use a shelf or two… you know how we women need some space for our goodies! ? Staff was helpful, polite and professional. All in all, a great first time experience. .
First time visiting since the remodel. Outstanding. The new owners are keeping this old school Florida beach resort alive with some nice upgrades. Rooms recently renovated and look great. The outside of the property has been refreshed as well. Pool is heated and in very good shape. The front desk / bar is very cool. No children when we were there so it was very peaceful. Room rates were on point. Bikes were available, but we brought our own. They were kind enough to accommodate us with a first floor room so we could store our bikes inside. In our courtyard they also had a pool table and foosball. The only thing would make it better, is to just go adults only.
