The Homewood Suites by Hilton in St. Petersburg receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff and spacious suites, particularly during renovations. However, numerous complaints center around inconsistent housekeeping, issues with room maintenance (including mold, plumbing problems, and broken appliances), and a lack of responsiveness from management. Recent reviews highlight a particularly poor experience with unprofessional front desk staff and unsettling construction noise.
EMILY IS AMAZING . SIMPLY but Elise is a problem she/he is extremely unpleasant and makes this hotel have an extremely different atmosphere. Very unprofessional and unpleasant, I’ve return to this property due to Emily great experience but thanks to Elise this will be last return. HOW IS HILTON hiring these kinda people
We stayed in a two bedroom suite for 4 nights on s business trip. It was noted on the bathroom mirror that housekeeping would be every other day during your stay. We never received housekeeping services during the entire stay, despite texting with housekeeping asking for extra towels and soap to be left. When I did go down to the front desk to ask for clean towels, I was informed that there were none to be had. He eventually gave me some pool towels to use, but had no wash cloths or hand towels to give me. I've attempted to reach out to management twice, the final request from them for "more information about your stay" went without a response. So our room with 6 people went unserviced for 4 days and the hotel staff couldn't be bothered with a response.
had a wonderful stay here! The place is not only comfortable but also has a truly lovely and kind staff who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and safe. A special shoutout to Carolyn from housekeeping and room service — she is incredibly sweet, hardworking, and attentive. Her dedication really stood out during my stay. Also, a big thank you to Leo, Fabloia Joseph, and the front desk staff — you all made my experience smooth and stress-free. Your professionalism and warm attitude made a huge difference. An extra special thank you to the Wednesday evening staff — you truly made that evening feel special, and I’ll always remember your kindness. Thank you all for making my stay safe, pleasant, and memorable. Highly recommended!
This is an awful hotel, I don't know who's giving it 4 stars but it makes me wonder where else they've stayed. Where to begin...first, hotel owners: don't install hallway carpets that introduce so much friction that it's a slog to get your rolling luggage to the rooms. Second, the toilet in my room is not what I would call "robust" - it worked maybe half the time and was simply not trustworthy. There was no proper desk in the room for working. The kitchenette was a nice touch, but that's about all I can say as a positive. Oh, and one of the TV remotes was missing the battery cover. Next time my company drags me down to St. Pete I'll definitely try to stay anywhere else.
This is worst hotel I ever been. Very old, Smell like smoking, dirty, toilet is yellow, towels are not clean (still some spot) comfort is very small and some part is ripped. I asked front clean my room cause it looks like not cleaned she said okay and never done it. I paid here $600 for 2 night. I am very mad I spent money for this horrible hotel. This is not a Hilton brand hotel just 80S’ motel.
They don't have the customer first mindset. They have (supposedly new ) tall chairs paired with an old , beaten down, low dinner tables. The result is a very uncomfortable position to eat or work as you can't stow your legs underneath the table ( there is not enough clearance). I get tired after 10 minutes in that uncomfortable setting. I don't care if they're going through renovations or will get new dining tables soon. This should not have been allowed to begin with. This was a poor decision that made the most uncomfortable setting for dining or working. At first I didn't notice and I ended up staining my work pants with the raw table wood border/ saw marks. That happened to two work pants as you naturally forget this issue and try to sit correctly Beware if you're wearing delicate fabrics as the raw wood table border may tear it. I tried asking the front desk twice to get me regular sized chairs and they said they could not help I even asked a room service worker for help with no favorable response.
Latoya, the front desk receptionist, was great. Check-in process was quick and efficient. Before I took a shower, I noticed there were no towels in the bathroom which is very unusual. I'm a frequent traveler and Hilton Gold member and I've never had that happen before. However, Latoya was very apologetic and accommodating to provide towels immediately. She waa so gracious. Thank you Latoya for turning a bad situation positive. Additionally, there were no kitchen towels in the kitchen. The breakfast was not desirable which is first. I always brag about the breakfasts at Homewood, Home2, and Embassy Suites properties; however, this breakfast was not good and didn't look appealing at all. Even the fruit, bananas and apples, were over ripe with brown spots on them....too ripe. I hope it was due to it being a Sunday.
We booked a room here for our trip through Travelocity, but were not told about the construction and the room rates were not discounted. We ended up moving after one night. There was a lot of banging, scraping, and other construction noise directly above our room as our daughter took her naps during the day. There were also footsteps running down the halls at night in the same construction filled hallways. There are no parking lot lights at night on our side of the building and multiple uhauls and vans full of stuff parked that didn’t move. We had to park on a different side of the building and walk farther to our room because we didn’t feel safe parking in the dark. The back door did not lock behind us many times, so that is another big security risk. The room was clean and recently updated, but the bathroom was small, the sink is in the bedroom, one bathroom fan didn’t work and the other was super loud, the water pressure was weak, the bed made noises as you moved, and the bedside tables were too big, only one side had power outlets and you had to purposely avoid them getting in and out of bed or you would hit your legs on them.
My partner and I booked this hotel for our mini st.pete weekend getaway. We stay in Orlando, so St. Petersburg is only a short drive away. Elise was the one who checked us in; she was very friendly and helpful and. Was able to accommodate my early check. I am a Hilton Honors member, and a majority of the time I travel, I stay at Hilton Brands hotels. The hotel is undergoing renovations, and we had an older room that has not been renovated yet . The room, even though it was older and not renovated, was very roomy, clean, and nice, and I am looking forward to my next stay once the room and hotel are fully renovated. I will definitely stay here again; the housekeeper who does the line was also very friendly and spoke each time she saw me, which is nice. The evening ladies both were also friendly. I would say that Hilton is always normally nice, but I wanted to say this team here excels what I normally experience, and that is saying a lot because Hilton is a great brand.
