This historic hotel is celebrated for its spacious, character-filled rooms and exceptional breakfast service, often compared favorably to luxury resorts. Guests frequently praise the friendly staff and convenient location near the Pinellas Trail, despite noting the dressy environment and occasional maintenance issues.
Beautiful older hotel. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was a great size as well. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty to choose from. I especially like the online check in. Made it very easy. Parking was right across the street and there was always a space available. My only issue was the howling wind that would come in through the AC unit.units. Would definitely stay again.
A quiet hotel in a quiet part of town. Built in 1916, this hotel exudes its history, but is quite up-to-date with all the conveniences that one would expect in a chain hotel. The breakfast was ok. The room was large and relaxing. My wife and I stayed at the hotel the night before we started the C2C bike ride across FL to Titusville. The hotel is a 3 minute ride to the Pinellas Trail. Hotel staff had no trouble giving us a convenient place to lock our bikes overnight. Starting at the Crystal Bay instead of the trailhead in downtown St Pete saved us the trouble of parking our car. Downtown parking garages all impose a 72-hr limit for parking, and the C2C trip takes 5 or 6 days! On-street parking next to and near the Crystal Bay is plentiful, safe, and free. And my wife and I were happy to start our ride with a 44 mile day, rather than a 51 mile day!
Wonderful hotel with loads of old style charm in a great location. We booked the Babe Ruth room which had a separate sunny sitting room and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and the best we had during our 2 weeks in Florida with exceptional service from the cook "Jesus"
Amazing experience staying at this hotel. We took a large group of teenagers from the UK on a school trip to florida and chose this hotel to stay in for a few nights. Throughout our stay they were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. They really made our stay feel like home. After chatting to Patrick on the front desk about books, he bought me a book I wanted to read and said it was a gift from the hotel. They really were the nicest people and we would definitely go back. Also the breakfast is delicious and it's a great location!
This hotel is so unique and the staff is incredibly helpful. I really enjoyed the breakfast and was able to book an additional night on my stay. I will definitely stay here again.
The kindness from everyone. The greetings The welcome written in the bed blanket. The breakfast was not a continental! Fresh fruit with variety, eggs, bacon, yogurt , oatmeal, cereal, sausage, hasbrowns, variety of pastries, then items you can also take on the go. Views are great, with a beautiful porch. Safe area, close to st.johns pass, the beach, many other places. Oh and the house just opposite of park is beautiful during holiday Christmas time.
We had a wonderful experience at Crystal Bay!! It was just absolutely phenomenal!! We just got a rescue golden retriever and we wanted him to experience a small getaway and they were just top notch for being dog friendly! It all started when we got to our room and they had an entire bag of dog treats for him! The hotel and the room was extremely clean! Cassandra was absolutely fantastic. She had a beautiful smile on her face the entire time we were there and extremely accommodating to everything that we needed! she was extremely kind and knowledgeable! We travel very frequently and Cassandra and the entire staff was award winning! Truly no other place comes close to being this fabulous! Highly highly recommend! Whether or not you have an animal or not, you will have an absolute beautiful time! thank you so much for making our experience such a positive one!
Enjoyed a long weekend at Crystal Bay. Good location, convenient to Pinellas Trail and Treasure Island. Historic but didn’t feel old. Solid breakfast (though it is the same every day). Slept well, a few different kinds of pillows. Recommended.
Love the place, clean room, and the staff was awesome, especially Kassandra. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. We loved the hotel's location and the balcony view. Lovely hotel, everything was perfect. I highly recommend it!! ??????????
This is a great historical hotel centrally located to everything you want to be near. Excellent free breakfasts every morning. Very comfortable and quiet rooms. Downside? No laundry options at all. Downside? For room service they rarely have the ingredients (turkey sandwich?). If they are going to advertise room service with specific options then they should make sure they have them all the time. P.S. Don’t get the “charcuterie” board. It’s $38 for a bunch of cheese, crackers, salami and pepperoni. A tiny bit of nuts and fruit. All the cheese is the same…some white cheese. For $38 it’s a total waste of your money. Downside: NO vending machines. Need a Diet Coke? You’re out of luck.
