The Coconut Inn offers a charming, relaxed getaway in Pass-a-Grille, Florida, just steps from the beach and local restaurants. Guests consistently praise its friendly staff, convenient amenities like beach chairs and bikes, and proximity to wildlife viewing opportunities. While some rooms have limitations due to age, the overall experience is described as memorable and inviting.
We stayed here for a week in April 2026 and had a great time. We were in room number 5. The Coconut Inn is great and we have no complaints other than the very small bathroom, with extremely high water pressure. The location is perfect for walking distance activities, the beach is super easy to get to as well as restaurants. We utilized the laundry and beach chairs on our trip. I was very leary about choosing this place because the pet friendliness with my pretty severe pet allergies but had zero issues. My wife loved Baxter as well! From this location you can easily walk the beach down and the bay back up and see lots of wildlife. Tons of dolphins, manatees, starfish and great shells to be found. Anna Marie Island, St. Pete Pier, Fort DeSoto, and Johns Pass were some fun attractions we did outside of Pass-a-Grille.
I am so happy that we took a chance on this place. We brought our dog with us on this trip and they had treats ready and waiting for her when we got into our room along with her own doggy towel. So thoughtful! The room was very clean and had great amenities. We enjoyed the pool and the short 2 minute walk to the beach. The dog beach is only a few blocks away and was quite nice. Such a beautiful area and we will definitely come back to stay here! Thanks Maggie, Lisa and Coconut Inn!! ~Brenda, Matt & Dakota
A charming old Florida experience. Relaxed and casual atmosphere. Beach access is across the street, and we had access to a selection of beach chairs, umbrellas, wagon. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and opened onto the pool deck, which was great for an early morning dip. We stayed for a week and had wonderful time. Would we book there again…yes! Book early as this inn is a popular spot. Thanks Maggie and Team
Loved this place. Felt like the old Key West. Owners could not have been more friendly. Warm pool in a cold period. Walkable to all the Pass a Grill restaurants where we love Seahorse. Best was the outdoor gas grill where we bought steaks at Shaners market and had the best steaks 2 of the 4 days. Beach right across the street and used their chairs every day without the expenses in the beach. Free bikes. Great bed. What was not to love??
An absolute gem! Perfect place to vacation with a baby. Everything you need is within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had the best time hanging at the pool with Baxter, the resident cat :)
We loved everything about the Coconut Inn! The staff were so nice and welcoming. The room was cute as a button and had everything we needed and was super clean! The location is perfect, one short block off the beach. Lots of fun restaurants within walking distance. Pass-A-Grille is a gem of a neighborhood. And we just loved Baxter the resident cat!! This is the perfect place for a getaway on St. Pete Beach!!
Wonderful old school inn. Steps from beach and just a block from restaurants. Tons of beach toys, thoughtfully provided Way less high strung than St Pete beach! The staff is outstanding, very low keyed old Florida feel. Pool is also quite nice and rooms are more than adequate, Definitely worth a stay!
If you are Tall, Obese or Physically Handicapped, then you may not be comfortable in the bathroom as it is from another generation and extremely tiny. There is very little space for your feet and there isn’t much clearance from the edge of the toilet seat to the wall. Other than that, this was a very lovely property. The room was very small, but super clean. The bed was comfy (thankfully no footboard), the shower was strong/hot and we absolutely loved walking around the amazing neighborhood. There is a small heated pool with plenty of seating that was really nice. Bikes are available too. And the beach is less than two blocks away with shops, restaurants and a dive bar. Please note that this place was under construction. The crew made noise early.
Close to the beach, free parking, adorable cat, great staff. The only complaint I could manage is that the bathroom was very tight, but I was barely in my room. Absolutely would stay here again!
I'm going to start with... I don't even want to rate this place. We loved it so much, I don't want to do anything to make it busier so we can enjoy it again like our own secret, I just feel obligated to share! There is so much good here, cute and quaint rooms, a quiet courtyard pool, a full outdoor kitchen, courtyard gazebo area, complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, fishing gear, bikes, paddle board, coffee, creamers, well equipped kitchens, comp guest parking, air conditioning, heat, literally a block (feels closer) from the beach, I just don't know what else to say. We loved it. Oh, and Baxter, legendary house (and neighborhood) cat, friendly and illusive. It's like staying in a friend's home at the beach. We found the staff friendly and informative about area attractions, lighting fast with any requests, we can’t wait to book our next stay. The property is clean and quiet, right in the middle of Pass-a-Grille, and steps from the beach, area restaurants, and a quick drive from larger St Pete Beach towns. There are only 11 rooms, so it matters what you want and which you pick, give them a call and they will talk you through it - view, pool, size, beds, etc. The bathrooms are historic, and not large, but we found everything we needed and more at this absolute gem!
