The Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach consistently receives positive feedback for its excellent location on Clearwater Beach, friendly staff, and clean facilities. While some guests appreciate the included amenities like the pool and beach access, recurring concerns involve bed comfort, shower issues, and occasional lapses in room cleanliness or maintenance.
I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay at the Hilton. For a nightly rate of around $600, I expected a much higher level of service and comfort. The overall experience was confusing and poorly organized. At the pool area there were no towels available, and guests were instructed to go all the way up to the 6th floor just to get a simple towel, which is very inconvenient. Additionally, there was no complimentary pool chair service, and chairs were charged separately, which is surprising considering the high cost of the stay. The beds were also a major issue. The bed frame had a metal structure that made a lot of noise whenever someone moved, making it difficult to rest comfortably. Another problem was the noise from a dog in the room next door. My child was scared of the barking and was unable to sleep properly during the night. The shower also had very low water pressure and appeared to be damaged, which added to the overall frustration. For a hotel charging $600 per night, the experience left a lot to be desired. I truly hope the hotel management reviews these issues and improves the service and room quality for future guests.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach from February 23rd–25th, 2026 in room 1007. The positives: We found the entire establishment — rooms, lobby, pool, and hot tub — to be very clean. The staff were consistently polite, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The location is truly ideal — right on the water — and we were even lucky enough to see two dolphins from the property! That alone made the trip feel special. Also, the hot honey pepperoni pizza at the in-house restaurant is absolutely to die for. Constructive feedback: While the overall cleanliness was impressive, I did notice a few minor maintenance details. In the bathroom, at the top left side of the door frame (when facing the closed door), there were a few small mold spots. Additionally, the hair dryer could use a deep cleaning — particularly the back vent area. The towels, although clean, were quite rough, small, and not very fluffy. Upgrading to higher-quality towels would make a noticeable difference in comfort. Similarly, the sheets felt rough and scratchy, and investing in higher thread count linens would elevate the overall experience. On our first day, the conditioner bottle in the shower was empty. The front desk kindly addressed it right away when we called, but it would have been nice if it had been refilled prior to check-in. My biggest concern was the beds. Unfortunately, they seem ready to be replaced. My bed squeaked whenever I moved, the mattress felt very firm and uncomfortable, and it almost felt like springs were pressing against pressure points. I didn’t sleep well during our stay, which was disappointing because everything else about the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Overall: I would rate this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. The location alone makes it worth returning, and the cleanliness and friendly staff were truly appreciated. The included breakfast was solid as well. With upgrades to the towels, linens, and mattresses — along with attention to a few small maintenance details — this would easily be a 5-star experience. We would certainly come back and hope management takes this feedback in the constructive spirit it’s intended.
This place is great! The staff is unbelievably wonderful and friendly. We interacted with several front desk members, breakfast staff and even the maintenance when the washer broke in the laundry and all of them were a 10/10! The beach is quiet and clean and well organized, not to mention a good value for the chairs and umbrella and there’s a nice bar right there that makes good drinks. The pool and hot tub are awesome, the breakfast is good. We enjoyed the short walk to the marina and pier and attractions without the noise of it right outside the hotel. The only con is that the beds were hard for my me but I have bad joints so I probably felt this more acutely, but it didn’t stop me from walking and doing things. Would definitely recommend it.
We visited the Hampton on Clearwater Beach for just a couple of days before heading to Orlando. I wish we could have stayed longer! Every single staff member we encountered was pleasant and kind. The morning of check out the manager asked my 4 year old son if he’d like to feed their turtles and the front desk associate gave him a pack of Swedish fish on the way out. Kind and thoughtful is the best way to describe the staff here. Our room was great. Comfy beds, lots of space, and a great view of the beach. Parking was easy to figure out and the free breakfast was as expected. My son would like to request fruit loops be stocked for next time ?. The pool was well maintained and HEATED! It was quite chilly in the air but my son loved the nice and warm pool. The staff on the beach shared with us where to find the best shells when we went out in the morning. AND because we stayed there we could use the trolley at no cost. All around a really great experience. Any time we visit the area again, we’ll definitely be staying here!
Fabulous staff. Julie made my stay extra special! She went out of her way to do so. Staff was friendly and attentive! Breakfast was wonderful! As an owner of a cleaning business, the hotel was one of the cleanest Hiltons I've ever been in. Great hotel all around- thank you.
Nice hotel with great location on beach. Friendly service with authentic smile. Rooms are nicely furnished but I just can't get positive feelings from American showers. We also had three days meetings in the conference room and catering for the meeting was very well organized. And delicious plus variable in all days. Parking garage in first five floors was spacious enough for the hotel.
We stayed one night at Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach and had a fantastic experience. The staff was amazing, especially Greg at the front desk, who truly went above and beyond. Breakfast the next morning was actually really good, and the rooftop area was a highlight. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail and light appetizers while watching the sunset. We did not use the pool since it was a little chilly, but it is heated and there were plenty of people enjoying both the pool and hot tub. We wished we had brought our swimsuits to try it out. The rooms are a bit dated, but the bed was extremely comfortable and that is what matters, the hotel was quiet, the bathroom was large and nicely updated, and we loved having a small balcony. Overall, our entire experience was awesome, and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Clearwater.
We’ve stayed at this hotel twice. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, awesome outdoor pool and hot tub, and a beach! There’s also a restaurant at this hotel. The location is great and a short walk to anything you ma need! Great location for the New Years Eve fireworks, too! We will be back again in the near future!
We had a very pleasant and impromptu stay over the holiday. Hotel is in a great location, walkable to much of Clearwater Beach, with a wonderful beach and pool/bar area of its own. Only downside is that area can get a little loud with all the bands playing late on weekends - e.g. we were hoping to relax on the 6th floor deck, but the band was playing - but that is probably just par for the area, and not a deal breaker.
I stayed at Hampton in queen suite from December 24th to 28th with my family, including a 6-month-old baby and a 7-year-old child, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. 1. Housekeeping issues: Our room was not cleaned on December 25th or 26th. I understand that the 25th was Christmas, but skipping cleaning on the 26th was unacceptable. Even after having a one-on-one conversation with the cleaning staff, our room was still skipped. After three days, we were surrounded by used towels, unchanged bedsheets, and sand all over the floor from beach visits. For a family staying in a queen suite, this was extremely poor management. 2. Manager behavior: When we raised these concerns with the manager, Tony, his response was aggressive and unprofessional. The conversation became heated, and this happened in front of my family, which was very uncomfortable and unthoughtful. Instead of helping, he showed irritation and even asked us to change our own bedsheets. This was completely unacceptable behavior from a manager. 3. Room maintenance problems: • The bathroom plugs near the mirror were not working, forcing us to use outlets outside the bathroom for basic needs like a hair dryer or trimmer. • The shower head was loose and leaking, spraying water everywhere. It couldn’t be adjusted properly, and water pressure was poor. We had to deal with this broken setup for the entire 4-day stay. 4. Breakfast & food management: Breakfast options were not vegetarian- or vegan-friendly at all. Potatoes and chicken were kept in the same hot pot, with steam and flavor mixing, making the food unsuitable for vegetarians. There were no real vegan options, except bread. Even the apples looked old and not fresh. Overall: Except for the view, there was nothing positive about this stay. Poor housekeeping, unprofessional management, lack of maintenance, and careless food handling made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this hotel to families, long-term stays, or vacation travelers. There was no proper management, no support, and no quality service.
