The St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater receives generally positive feedback, particularly highlighting its friendly and attentive staff. While rooms are comfortable and the location convenient, recent reviews indicate ongoing issues with amenities, including unreliable Wi-Fi and AC malfunctions, alongside concerns about inconsistent service and a lack of responsiveness from management regarding unresolved issues.
It is a nice size hotel and great convention area though the only fall back is they do not have a lot of parking in their parking lot but it also looks like it's because they're under a little bit of construction or something. I had to park across the street for a convention I was going to because of the lack of space in their parking lot. Aside from that it's a nice hotel got a nice bar nice little restaurant in it.
We had 40 people meet for a Spring Training weekend. Kathryn set a table that drew nothing but awesome. She set up a great happy hour and let us keep it for people who showed up late. There were no complaints on the food and service.
Booked a king size bed for 6 days. The first day the air conditioning stopped working, the second day it was making a very loud vibrating metal rattle. So loud I couldn’t sleep. I called the front desk, they said no one could repair it that night and they couldn’t move me to a different room. Next day I asked again, they said the AC was broken and they had to DOWNSIZE me to a smaller bed that was all that was available. When I asked for a discount on the room for: 1. The inconvenience of not having AC as agreed upon in the booking 2. A smaller bed than I paid for They refused a discount, and only offered me a breakfast coupon for 2 of the 3 days left on my booking. Terrible customer service. Our company does large volumes of booking through this hotel and this is the service and thanks we get. Not a discount, not a complimentary night to make up for their maintenance issues, not even a free dinner. Find a different hotel. I know I will next time I’m working in that location again.
The staff made this stay truly exceptional Our work team has been to countless hotels for conferences, and what sets this one apart is the people. We truly cannot say enough about the many friendly, warm, thoughtful staff persons at the Marriott Clearwater who made our stay exceptional and sent us home with fond memories to last a lifetime. From Daniel the shuttle driver who personally compiled a full page (front & back) list of all the restaurants and bars within range of the free shuttle service, and greeted us each (consistently prompt & reliable) trip with genuine interest and lively conversation (aside: please consider an upgraded van with an automatic door - that door is HEAVY and Daniel deserves it!!) to Kris at the front desk always ready with a neverending supply of bottled water, great recommendations for local spots, and generous drink vouchers that helped us stretch our very limited (nonprofit) budget to Thomas the bartender who was an extraordinarily good sport with the rowdy conference goers staying up far past our bedtimes (def try the local whiskey!), to the woman who courteously and quietly delivered our room service while a colleague was on an important call - even the construction crew we ran into in the elevator! They gave us early check-in which made our transition from travel to conference infinitely easier, granted our request for a (3 pm!) late checkout without hesitation, delivered extra towels & toilet paper within moments of calling... I could go on. This is a team that genuinely cares about hospitality. I've stayed at hotels that literally cost 8 TIMES the amount and received service that absolutely PALES in comparison to our experience at the Marriott Clearwater. We felt so cared for that we didn't even mind that our "view" was literally a wall, lol. We're already planning our return for next year's conference. The rooms do the job, but the people? They're the reason we'll look forward to coming back.
The rooms were good. I do love how the rooms are laid out. It’s two rooms together facing each other instead of four side by side I like that. The person who made my stay go from good to absolutely amazing was Latrice. Her customer service was TOP TIER! Before I even arrived, she was BEYOND helpful! I called the hotel with a few questions and she was so polite and answered all of them. When I arrived, she was nothing less than amazing! She told me about the complimentary shuttle that takes you to get food, drinks, how far the wedding was (the one I came down for) I wish I could give her 100 stars! If you go visit this hotel, please personally ask for Latrice! Your experience will turn from good to AMAZING! Latrice thank you so much for everything ??
Everything was great, however dinner and subsequently breakfast was a little weak, and my room on the 7th floor was in some kind of a galactic nexus where the WiFi didn't work. Staff so nice that they retained that elusive 5th star, and rooms were fine. Would certainly stay here again.
Was rented a room that had non functioning air conditioning after arriving to the hotel following a late arrival. Room was absolutely stifling! Breakfast was ice cold and very limited. Management comped the room as we all slept terribly. How housekeeping would not realize a room was near 80 degrees is beyond me! Would NOT recommend this hotel.
Beautiful hotel - Easy to book and check-in. The staff were friendly, social and helpful. The location is easy to access and free to park. Our room was top quality, the bed incredibly comfortable and I loved that our bathroom included essentials (shampoo/conditioner/body wash, makeup wipes, lotion and a hair dryer) that I did not bring myself and was relieved to have available. Absolutely recommend.
We ended up at this hotel because our original hotel overbooked and turned us away. We showed up at midnight, frustrated, and yet Byron greeted us with a smile and knew our names when we arrived. It was nice have such great service in a stressful time. The room was clean and updated and the hotel in general is very nice.
When I booked my stay I apparently messed up and only booed 2 nights instead of 3. The rates had gone up due to same day booking. I told Latrice at the desk what happened. She said she would have to call her manager. She had it all fixed and we are staying a 3rd night. Coming from Indianapolis for a wedding things have already been stressful.also I’m an employee of the Marriott downtown Indianapolis. Thank you for being so helpful and taken care of us. She deserves the Best of the Best award.
